Prestatech GmbH is a financial-technology company based in Berlin, Germany, that provides software for digital lending and cash-flow-based credit analysis.[1]

History

[edit]

Prestatech was founded in 2021 in Berlin as a spin-out of the Italian small and medium enterprise (SME) lender PrestaCap, established to adapt and commercialize its lending-automation technology for use by other financial institutions.[1] In 2021, CDP Venture Capital, the venture arm of Italy’s state-backed investment bank, invested in Prestatech through its Fintech Evolution Fund.[2] In announcing it's investment, the fund’s responsible partner described Prestatech as having a “cutting-edge offering, a highly cohesive, ambitious, and skilled team, and international footprint.”[2]

According to Il Sole 24 Ore, among the banks using Prestatech’s credit-analysis technology to support lending processes is Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy's largest banking group.[1]

Leadership

[edit]

Christian Nothacker, co-founder and CEO of Prestatech, previously worked at SumUp and founded PrestaCap before establishing Prestatech.[3] In an interview with Payment & Banking, Nothacker said that artificial intelligence “will be inevitable in banking” and that Prestatech aims to contribute to this transformation by “automating traditional processes between banks and customers.”[3]

Recognition

[edit]

Prestatech was ranked #46 in the Sifted 50 Germany 2025 list of the country's fastest-growing startups, published by Sifted (Financial Times Group). The publication described the company as “a Berlin-based fintech in digital lending, founded in 2021, employing about 30 people, with €8 million in total funding and a two-year revenue Compound Annual Growth Rate of 41 percent.”[4]

In 2025, CNBC included Prestatech among the World’s Top Fintech Companies, listing it as one of only nine German fintechs to make the ranking — alongside N26, Trade Republic, Check24, Scalable Capital, and Raisin.[5]
