History

[edit]

NETIS was founded in 2009 in Côte d’Ivoire by Jean Farhat and Jean-Claude Figali, initially focusing on projects in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Burkina Faso.[5] Between 2014 and 2018, the company expanded operations to Benin, Uganda, Togo, Gabon, and Rwanda, and launched infrastructure inspection services using drones. In 2018, Enko Capital acquired a minority interest.[6] In 2019, NETIS relocated its headquarters to Casablanca, Morocco, and acquired Reime Group, expanding to Nigeria and further strengthening its West African presence.[7] A majority stake in the company was acquired in November 2023 by a consortium including Amethis, AfricInvest, Proparco, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC); Enko Capital exited.[8][9] In 2024, NETIS opened a subsidiary in Cameroon.[10] In October 2025, Alykhan Kassam was appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding the co-founders, who remain on the Board.[11][12]
