All About Morgan Mercer

Backstory Morgan Mercer is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, and the CEO of Vantage Point, one of the world’s first virtual reality demonstrations on sexual harassment. Created in 2017, her mission and pain point was to drive empathy, behavior change, and human transformation.[2] Mercer’s commitment to this mission is deeply personal—she is a two-time survivor of sexual violence, and her experiences have fueled her passion for creating real, systemic change. According to the official Vantage Point website, “We believe that the heart of all we do is human. The way we make the world more human is by using technology to teach and inspire people to become the very best versions of themselves they always hoped to be.” [3] Mercer has also compared sexual violence training to driver’s ed, something that is extremely interactive. By not making sexual violence training interactive, the humanity aspect is taken away. “We approach driver's education by playing students videos of stories from parents whose children were killed in drunk driving accidents. We iterate the consequences of an individual’s actions, but yet we approach sexual assault as such a textbook topic - so black and white.” [5] Prior to creating Vantage Point, Mercer was the head of digital for an e-commerce startup and was an analyst for a digital agency. She has always been a leader in social change and has worked on contracts focused on attitude and behavior change.[1] Through research, Mercer discovered that interactive learning is more impactful than reading about a difficult subject. Through Vantage Point, her innovative technology places the user in an office setting, and they are given the opportunity to witness sexual harassment scenarios. They are taught how to help, address, intervene, and navigate the situation.[4] At Vantage Point, Mercer was extremely successful and her mission reached many people. She raised $4.25 million in venture capital and placed in the top 0.006% of Black women who have raised venture capital. She proceeded to make the company global, developing the virtual reality machine in 17 languages, across 4 continents, and stretching impact to Fortune 500 companies.[2] Her work has changed the way sexual violence is addressed and taught in the workplace. She stands out not only as an impressive businesswoman but also as a leader in the realm of driving social impact.

Awards and Achievements Morgan Mercer’s success can also be measured by the impressive awards she has earned. These include the UN Women “Champion of Change in the Era of Equity”, Top 101 CEO in Education – Best Startups, WIRED “Person of the Month”, and the US Chamber of Commerce “Woman in Tech” Feature.[2] These awards are no surprise and reflect Mercer’s achievements and vision at Vantage Point, leading her to jumpstart her success. They illustrate her innovative mind and groundbreaking leadership in tech and beyond.

Where is she now? As of March 2025, Morgan Mercer is currently the Principal and Strategic Officer at Stealth Initiative and focuses on market entry frameworks for emerging companies. She also previously served as the COO of a technology company in December 2024. [2]
