Kevin Hamdan (born October 29, 1997) is a Canadian mentalist and entertainer based in Toronto, Ontario. He is known for his street performances and digital content that showcases mentalism and psychological illusions.
Early life and education
[edit]Hamdan was born on October 29, 1997, in Woodbridge, Ontario, and raised in Vaughan. He attended St. Clare Catholic Elementary School and Father Bressani Catholic High School. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from York University in 2019, where he studied jazz guitar. During university, Hamdan developed an interest in psychology and self-taught mentalism alongside his academic studies.[1]
Career
[edit]Hamdan began performing street magic and mentalism in Toronto in the early 2020s. His performances typically involve psychological illusions, card effects, and audience participation in public settings.
In 2021, he began posting short-form video content on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram in collaboration with the Toronto-based media collective Now or Never Firm. His videos have received hundreds of millions of views and contributed to a growing online following.[2]
Appearances and performances
[edit]Hamdan has performed across Canada and has made several media appearances. In 2023, he appeared on the national television show Cityline, performing live mind-reading demonstrations for the studio audience.[3]
In January 2024, Hamdan performed a live show at Georgian Theatre at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, as part of their campus event programming.[4]
He was also a guest on The Big Interview, a segment of the nationally syndicated radio show Big Boy’s Neighborhood on iHeartRadio, where he performed mentalism and discussed his creative process.[5]
Collaborations
[edit]In 2023, Hamdan partnered with Guinness to promote the Canadian launch of Guinness 0, a non-alcoholic draught beer. He performed as part of a branded street activation in Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square that featured live mentalism and giveaways.[6]
