Flashnet S.A. is a Romanian technology company that designs and develops smart infrastructure systems, focusing primarily on smart street lighting. The company is best known for its inteliLIGHT® remote street lighting management platform, which integrates hardware and software to enable urban IoT services.
Headquartered in Brașov, Romania, Flashnet operates in over 70 countries and is part of the Lucy Group[1], a UK-based infrastructure and energy conglomerate.
History
[edit]Founded in 2005 by entrepreneur Lorand Mozes, Flashnet began by integrating communication technologies such as WiFi, WiMax, and Power Line Communication (PLC) into existing city infrastructure. In 2006, the company completed Romania’s first PLC implementation. In the years that followed, Flashnet transitioned from systems integrator to a full-stack smart infrastructure provider.
In 2011, Flashnet was one of the first companies to deploy a large-scale smart street lighting system in the Middle East, with projects in Riyadh and Mecca.
The company continued to innovate by being first to market with LoRaWAN (2015), NB-IoT (2016), Sigfox (2017), and LTE Cat M1 (2017) compatible streetlight controllers.
In 2022 Flashnet became part of the Lucy Group.
In 2025 it launched Flashnet LLC to expand its operations in the United States.
