DATAtab

[edit]

DATAtab is an online statistics software for data analysis and performing statistical tests. All algorithms run directly in the web browser therby ensuring data security. [1]

The software DATAtab was launched in 2020 with the aim of simplifying data analysis for students and professionals. Recent developments focus on improving accessibility and user experience. This is useful in educational settings where users are learning to understand and apply statistical methods. [2]

A team of data scientists in Austria developed the software. The core developers of DATAtab are Mathias Jesussek, (Technical University of Hamburg) and Hannah Volk-Jesussek (University of Graz). [3]

Software

[edit]

The software DATAtab can be used as a tool for descriptive statistics and data visualizations. Further inferential statistics are available in DATAtab, including t-tests, chi-square tests, ANOVA, correlation and regression analysis. [4]

The aim of descriptive statistics is to summarize data by calculating key measures of the distribution. Further inferential statistics aim at hypothesis testing, determining relationships between variables. Additionally, regression analysis is covered, in order to examine dependencies between variables.[5][6]

A detailed user manual and statistical guide is available for DATAtab.[7]Third party learning resources are also available including books and video tutorials in multiple languages like English, German, Spanish and French. [8][9][10]

Applications

[edit]

DATAtab is frequently used in science, research, and business analysis for statistical data analysis. [11]

With the help of the software, extensive analyses and evaluations can be carried out in a short time. DATAtab is used in internationally published studies and scientific books in disciplines from IT and finance to medicine. [12]

In the field of business analytics and economics, the software DATAtab is helpful to interpret market trends and customer feedback, by applying ANOVA and non-parametric tests.[13][14] Further the software functions as a supporting factor in the analysis in medical research and behavioral studies and facilitates the use of descriptive and inferential statistics. [15][16][17] Finally researchers consider it a useful tool in natural sciences and environmental studies.[18]
