Blowtorch Records is an Irish independent record label founded in Galway in 2019.[1][2][3]
They have released singles, EPs and albums on cassette, CD and vinyl by bands including Adore, Rob Smith's Swedish Railway Orchestra, The Savage Hearts (feat. Evan Walsh from The Strypes), Virgins, Jagged Baptist Club, Paranoid Visions, Nixer, Nerves, Some Remain, Search Results, iNNUENDO, His Father's Voice, Scattered Ashes and TV People.
They also publish a blog featuring articles from guest writers such as Scotland's Julia Mason[4] (aka The Decibel Decoder) and host a podcast with guests from all areas of the music industry such as Dan Fox from Gilla Band, Bren Berry from Aiken Promotions and The Clockworks from Alan McGee's Creation23 label.
History
[edit]The label was formed initially to provide digital promotion for new bands and artists globally. Within 6 months, Richard, the label owner, became the manager of Galway punk band Turnstiles[5][6][7] and the label has since become synonymous with Irish bands[8] and an emphasis on punk, post punk, shoegaze and electronica.
