Script

Is there some sort of script that has been written or could be written to easily have a drop-down where categories could be added and all edits made automatically? ~Darth StabroTalk  Contribs 16:14, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Is there something you're thinking of that isn't covered by the tools listed in Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting § Scripts and tools? I personally use User:Enterprisey/delsort. Skynxnex (talk) 16:22, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, perfect. I hadn't seen those. ~Darth StabroTalk  Contribs 17:20, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The topics are currently uneven, for instance there is Astronomy and Biology, but big omissions; I suggest adding Physics and Chemistry as a start, see for instance User:SDZeroBot/NPP sorting under STEM. Ldm1954 (talk) 18:50, 13 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I noticed those large omissions, too, so I wholeheartedly second this request. Anomalous+0 (talk) 03:04, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Could we move Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Artists to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Visual artists since that is the topic and to cut down on erroneous postings? Jahaza (talk) 20:35, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

or …/Visual arts ? —Tamfang (talk) 05:06, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I'm tagging for merger. The two pages are relatively low traffic and non-visual artists are regularly being put into Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Artists and then they have to be removed again, which is a waste of time. Jahaza (talk) 22:15, 26 June 2025 (UTC) (time stamp incorrect)[reply]

If the two are merged, it should keep the name Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Visual arts and should not be changed to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Visual artists because there would no longer be a del sort for galleries and museums, arts organizations, murals, works of graphic design, public art, collaborative efforts and teams, etc. I have no opinion on the merger at this time, but feel quite strongly that if it goes forward, it should not be called Visual artists, but should remain visual art. Netherzone (talk) 22:08, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Right, exactly that. Previously I suggested renaming "Artists" to "Visual artists" to reduce confusion, but now I'm suggesting instead a merge to "Visual arts". If people don't want a merge, then as a fall back, we could keep "Visual arts" and change Artists to "Visual artists" as originally proposed. But I agree that we want to keep a general Visual arts category, regardless. Jahaza (talk) 22:14, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Should the Prod section be removed from the bottom of the list? Seems unused. Govvy (talk) 13:55, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The PROD section for most of the deletion sorting lists I've seen goes unused because you have to manually list things there. It might be worth removing it for most of them, but I'd wait to see what other people say. Schützenpanzer (Talk) 19:29, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New List for Activism

Can I go ahead and set up a list for Activism, or do I need to get permission in advance, and how would that happen? Anomalous+0 (talk) 02:26, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
