May i know why was my article was declined?
012csthesis (talk) 05:29, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- @012csthesis: Because it was highely promotional and copied from the organisation website. Please never copy stuff you found on the internet onto Wikipedia. Even if we could resolve the legal part, 99% of the texts found on the internet are not siutable for Wikipedia. Please use your own words. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 08:18, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

- Trangtrini Your draft has been rejected, meaning that it will not be considered further. It does not appear that Moon Bin meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable singer. 331dot (talk) 07:25, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- how to improve that article? I will start over again after receiving your advice. thanks Trangtrini (talk) 07:43, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Trangtrini If you have additional comment, please edit this existing section, instead of creating new sections. I'm sorry, but you will only be wasting your own time and that of others if you continue to pursue this. No amount of editing can change the fact that this person does not meet the definition of a notable singer. You are welcome to edit other areas of the encyclopedia. 331dot (talk) 07:55, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

10:29:31, 8 September 2020 review of submission by GetBlock
Hello! I would like to understand which changes gave to be made, so the page would be published? GetBlock (talk) 10:29, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Olivia Kenney at GetBlock company: (Note:Changed the username after rename, the original name was GetBlock) You have to start from scratch anyway, so I recommend having a look at User:Ian.thomson/Howto. Howewer, before you hit the save button one more time read WP:PAID and make the required disclosure. This is a Terms of Use requirement (Section 4) and not negotiable. 10:38:41, 8 September 2020 review of submission by Trangtrini
can you show the difference between my article to the random article I randomly found here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Moon_(singer) - sorry I just wanna figure it out how to work out with this submission thing.
Should I remove group activities/ keep only individual song/activities to make it looks independent comparing to the group page?
Trangtrini (talk) 10:38, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Trangtrini: Please see WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. Wikipedia is a volunteer-driven project, and its possible for unsiutable articles to go undetected, even for years. I can't read korean, so I am unable to give an assentment of that article's inclusion. Please note that imdb.com and tumblr are commonly regarded as unreliable. The same thing goes for other user-generated content such as any social network and most youtube videos. Victor Schmidt (talk) 13:46, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
11:49:49, 8 September 2020 review of draft by Laksisi1997
I keep getting rejected even after I put references out. Reviewers are implying that I'm getting paid for this and I'm certainly not. How to write articles that get approved ?
Laksisi1997 (talk) 11:49, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Use sources that are considered reliable. Note that
the Daily Mirror is sometimes considered unreliable.

- As current wriiten, the draft doesnt indicate how WP:NCORP is met. Victor Schmidt (talk) 13:34, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Victor Schmidt: In the table, you've confused the Daily Mirror (British tabloid) with The Daily Mirror (Sri Lankan broadsheet). The Daily FT and Sunday Observer, of which you are unsure, are other newspapers as reliable as Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Welt, etc. for the sorts of things that newspapers are usually reliable for. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:04, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I am here with a few questions that I would like to see if I can get some help on. I recently had one of my submissions be rejected due to the submission not following Wikipedia guidelines. I went to the article that contained the guidelines and it seemed to me that I had no broke any guidelines or used my submission in a harmful way. If you can help me adjust my submission in any way it would greatly be appreciated. SouthernCharm10! (talk) 15:16, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

21:41:18, 8 September 2020 review of draft by Rileypk97
My article has been submitted a few times and is denied every time. I have only used blogs and articles from secondary sources and only state facts about the nonprofit. Reviewers have said that my draft is too much like an advertisement but yet i am only including information from my secondary sources. here is my draft if you have a moment please check it out: MidwayUSA Foundation I'm not sure what else to do, i have even looked at pages such as St Jude Children's Research Hospital which is a very well known nonprofit and their wiki page is full of primary sources straight from their website, and it's full of opinions which i thought arent supposed to be on wiki pages?
Thanks for your time, --Rileypk97 (talk) 21:41, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Rileypk97 (talk) 21:41, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Rileypk97 The draft needs to do more than just tell about the organization. It must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization(please review). Almost all of your sources seem to be press release-type stories or announcements of routine business. These are not acceptable for establishing notability. Note that we judge each draft on its own merits- problems in other similar articles does not mean that problems in yours can be tolerated; see other stuff exists. As this is a volunteer project, it is possible to get inappropriate content by us. We can only address what we know about. That said, primary sources are not forbidden- they simply cannot be used to establish notability. 331dot (talk) 08:17, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

- Caby-Hooky You have no independent reliable sources in the draft. You have some external links, but they are just that- they are not formatted as inline references for the article content. The subject does seem to be notable but it still needs to be written about in independent sources to merit a Wikipedia article. Please see WP:CITE for information on citing references. 331dot (talk) 08:13, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi there - can you help me and tall me what I need to add/change to get this article published?
Many thanks
- In order to demonstrate notability, you need to provide multiple references to in-depth articles written about Mike Dye in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books or online. If there are no sources then we can’t have an article about them. Your draft has zero independent sources, see WP:REFB for help with correctly formatting them when you find them. not being "notable enough to include in Wikipedia" is an infringement of my rights to freedom of speech and

Angelo2386 (talk) 11:08, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Angelo2386, in order for an article to be included in Wikipedia the topic must meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Specifically notability bust be established by significant coverage in independent reliable sources. Your rights to religious freedom and freedom of speech don't require Wikipedia to host content for you. I am the leader of a religious organization and the primary source for our religious beliefs there are no other sources , to mention but we are a legitimate religion. How do I make my article notable without any other sources ? Angelo2386 (talk) 11:50, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Angelo2386 If your religious organization has not been written about by others unaffiliated with it in published, independent reliable sources with significant coverage, it would not merit a Wikipedia article at this time. No amount of editing can change that. If you just want to tell the world about your organization, you should use social media. 331dot (talk) 12:18, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

14:13:54, 9 September 2020 review of submission by RPeevyhouse
Hello, The app seems to have sufficient notability to meet WP:GNG. Apart from its popularity, coverage on highly reliable sources such as Forbes, LABJ, and Realty Next, I think make it eligible for an entry. I think we might be able to find more coverage about it if we looked harder. Should I go about and search more references that might offer new information? RPeevyhouse (talk) 14:13, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi RPeevyhouse. Forbes magazine is a reliable source, but www.forbes.com/sites (by contributors rather than staff) are blogs. They are the exact opposite of highly reliable sources, and should not be cited as references. For a deeper understanding of what sources to use, see WP:RS, WP:RSN, and WP:RS/PS.
- The draft has been rejected, which is intended to be final (as opposed to declined, which leaves open the possibility of improvement and resubmission). In the reviewer's judgement, the company is not notable. The cited sources are almost all about capital raising, a type of coverage that is explicitly excluded by the notability guidelines from those that can demonstrate notability. It would be highly unusual for a two-year-old company to be notable.
- If I were you, I wouldn't sink any more time into the draft. Indeed, I would recommend against creating company-related articles entirely until you've built up considerable experience. Ninety-eight percent of Wikipedia's existing articles are rated less than "good" by the community, so there is enormous scope for improving the encyclopedia without creating new articles at all. If you're unsure where to start, see Wikipedia:Community portal for ways to help. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:18, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

I have added a few external resources to the article to provide more notability and rapport.
Please review and let me know what needs work
Thanks, S Saskia Schuldig (talk) 07:54, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Saskia Schuldig Your draft has been rejected, meaning it will not be considered further, as it appears your company does not meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Your sources seem to be routine business announcements, and not the significant coverage in independent reliable sources needed. An article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a company, showing how it meets the definition of a notable company. "Significant coverage" does not include press releases, announcements of routine business transactions, staff interviews, or primary sources. Not every company merits an article here, even within the same field. Feel free to show your superiors this message. Note that since you say on your user page that you are editing as part of your job duties, you are a paid editor even if you are not given specific compensation for your edits. 331dot (talk) 09:01, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Superhima (talk) 15:16, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Superhima Please review the conflict of interest and paid editing policies and make the required declarations. The latter is a Terms of Use requirement; you are still a "paid editor" even if you are an unpaid volunteer, as you are compensated with the experience of the volunteer work.
- The draft just tells about the organization and what it does. Wikipedia articles must do more, they must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. I am writing about an youtuber/idol agency. The article was declined due to unreliable source but the two sections briefly talking about its history and recent controversies all have proper source. What kind source can I added to make the article source reliable.
Another question about press release. In the case of this article where I use PR to confirm that "yes, we have this member with this name" or "yes, we have this event/album/appearance on this date". Is this bad or redundant or should I not include those detail at all.
Feking83 (talk) 15:22, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Links to PR firms to confirm that YouTuber xxx is a member of that firm should be acceptable, but only for that (other editors may have a different opinion). Most social networks, including Twitter and Youtube rent considered reliable. Directory entries arent WP:SIGCOV. Victor Schmidt (talk) 16:51, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

1.Dr Claassen passed away 30 years ago and that was why I struggled to get internet references.
2. I am afraid his discovery of :"How to learn much faster" might be lost to the world, so I appeal to you to help me here to allow this submission.
3. The 3 references I gave are actually 3 books published 40years ago. 3.a. The 1st reference is actually a book in a library with ISBN number: ISBN 0-620-03994-9.1979. This is a 1st class reference of a book where hundreds of thousands were printed and sold.
3.b. The 2nd reference is also a book in Cape Town , called Dianoetic methodology.1972
3.c. The 3rd reference is also a book in SA National Library: Claassen, J.P.D (1983). Dianoetic Learning Program.
4. His research is about to be obliterated and is a very important discovery, which I feel must not be lost to the world. (I personally has the 2nd and 3rd books in my house library and can give you some .JPG pictures if needed) Even if you can help me list it under another Wikipedia heading, this will also be greatly appreciated.

- Hi Anonymous 1908, the article does not demonstrate that the subject is notable. Notability needs to be established by the subject having significant coverage in reliable sources. At the moment the only sources on the article are google searches (which have no value as a source), and the subject's own profiles on Spotify and Pinterest, which are not independent of the source and so can't establish notability. If this is against the rules, I understand.
Bcmonroe (talk) 22:26, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Bcmonroe, a significant problem with the article is that the tone is overly-promotional. "With ten delicious flavors containing zero sugar, sodium, carbs, and calories, C4 Energy offers a better-for-you way to overachieve and outperform on a daily basis." reads like an advertisement, not an encyclopedia article Pi (Talk to me!) 23:56, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello,
I'm wondering if the group could help me with an article I'm working on (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:International_Franchise_Association). It's been declined twice for "reading like a press release", and I'm not sure what to change to make it less so. My understanding of press releases is that they focus on only positives and use exaggerated language to promote the company. I've tried very carefully to only present factual information, and I'd consider much of what's in here to be very unflattering if I was the organization (lobbying against minimum wage increases, being associated with the Koch brothers, etc.). Is the issue the membership section? If so that data was clearly hedged by using words like "claims" and "states" but it could certainly be removed.
I've also been accused of having a conflict of interest. I'm not sure where this is coming from? Is it because this is an organization page? There's been so much focus on issues around supporting service workers that I think it's important for people to have insight into organizations like this that are on the "other side" of the issue. If there's a group out there that's supporting lobbying efforts and political candidates at scale, I think that's something Wikipedia's readers should know.
Thanks for any insight you can provide. This is my first article and I appreciate your feedback.

I seek guidance on why this entry for Boris Berenfeld keeps getting rejected. I have responded to prior reviewers' concerns and am earnestly trying to ensure the entry meets Wikipedia's guidelines. In preparing the original draft, I used the entry for Robert F. Tinker, a biophysicist and close colleague of Dr. Berenfeld, as a basic template. Dr. Tinker's entry has been posted on Wikipedia for years. Like Dr. Tinker, Dr. Berenfeld is a renown educational theorist whose cutting-edge work has been supported by the NSF, the World Bank, and many others. He's earned a page on Wikipedia. Can I please get some concrete guidance on what I need to change in Dr. Berenfeld's entry to get it posted on Wikipedia? Thank you.

- Hi زاہد یعقوب, the reviewer left two reasons for declining your article. Firstly that the article is not written in the tone required of a Wikipedia article. For example this sentence "In the field of literature and journalism, it’s very difficult to find someone with so much personalities." is promotional rather than objective. The purpose of an encyclopedia article isn't to sing the praises of the subject, it's to describe the subject with facts that are established by reliable sources cited in the article. I edited and submitted ("published") a draft on the "Mészáros effect" from my sandbox (User:Harasztyan) this afternon around 14:00 EST. Then I realized I should have written the said draft and submitted it from a sub-page entitled Mészáros effect, which I had not yet created. So at 17:30 EST I created this subpage, User:Harasztyan/Mészáros_effect, and I copied into it the same draft, which presumably now has the right title, and I re-submitted it (i.e. pressed "publish" again, for a second time). So you may find two copies of the same draft, the first one without title, in my user page, and the second one with its title, in the subpage with the corresponding title. Sorry for the messup, hope this does not cause trouble.

Unlike Facebook, LinkedIn, or similar social networking sites, it is not a place to write about yourself, your family, or friends. No amount of editing will make the draft acceptable because the subject does not meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria (is not notable). - For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, and is in WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today. Fiddle Faddle 11:53, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi. The article Bilal U. Haq shows a maintenance box that says:
"This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. The specific problem is: The huge set of references authored by him are inappropriate and need to be trimmed, or the text trimmed. The are a bibliography though peer reviewed papers can be references used sparingly"
I find it difficult to know the best number of references to use. Before the article was approved, a reviewer said there were not enough references.
If I remove references 1 through 12, 16 and 25, will it be good enough?
Sincerely yours. Sandromaquine (talk) 12:15, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello, and thank you for your time. I need help understanding why the article I submitted was declined for inclusion in wikipedia. I included multiple reliable source references( Independent of the subject) to validate the subjects notablity. Those references included references to the subjects notable achievements and affiliation with other notable artist in Hip Hop music already include in Wikipedia. Was this article fairy reviewed or was it treated with malice because the subject is a Hip Hop artist. I know each article is subject to each reviewers subjective view, but hopefully not to their prejudice. Please indicate to me how I can fix this article so it can become included. I'm confused, according to wikipedia notability guidelines I did everything correctly, and the subject is notable.
Thank you for your time and diligence.
Edward Myer (talk) 14:14, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
- Edward Myer As the reviewer noted, it seems that this musician does not meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable musician. If he does, you need to show that with significant coverage in independent reliable sources; the sources you offered seem to be routine announcements or simply citing that something occurred. He's not notable for collaborating with other musicians, as notability is not inherited by association.
- Please also assume good faith instead of presuming malice. 331dot (talk) 14:34, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Hello I believe this subject should have not been declined as the musician meets as least one of the 12 "Criteria for musicians and ensembles"
Line 10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g., a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc. The subject had two songs featured on the 2017 release of the "Universal Hip Hop's Museum Compilation Album" entitled "16 Bars 4 Hip Hop" Which featured other notable artist as well. The Universal Hip Hop Museum is international recognized as the curators of Hip Hop Music garnering worldwide press and praise. Redirects and independent references were provided in the article to substantiate the subjects inclusion on the organizations 2017 compilation album release.
line 12. Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or television network. The musician was the featured subject and guest on SiriusXM Satellite Radio ,which broadcast thourghout the entire United States and international. He appeared on Sirius XM's premiere Hip Hop/Urban Platform show Eminem's shade45. The show only caters to established and notable artist in the filed of Hip Hop music. He was interviewed by the national and internationally wikiepedia noted Disc jockey DJ KaySlay. Independent redirects and references to this was also provided in the article.
4. Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. The musician has also done numerous tours within the United States and The UK. We provided links/footage and independent references to him performing in London during his 2019 international tour.
I do believe this subject has met at least one criteria in the stated and clearly outlined criteria that is publicly posted and visible in the wikipedia guidelines.
Thank you, and I hope the decision of non inclusion can be reversed.
Criteria for musicians and ensembles
Musicians or ensembles (this category includes bands, singers, rappers, orchestras, DJs, musical theatre groups, instrumentalists, etc.) may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria.

- Edward Myer Who is "we"? If you are employed by or represent this musician, you must review and comply with WP:COI and WP:PAID. If you have such sources, you will then need to appeal to the reviewer directly. If you have additional comment, please edit this existing section, instead of creating new sections. 331dot (talk) 06:54, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I would like to request some help regarding this article. This is the largest sparkling wine producer in Eastern Europe and I think it definitely should have a page on English Wikipedia, although I'm not entirely sure where does the article look promotional or missing any significant references. The information was mostly taken from the Ukrainian Wikipedia page and the articles from the press and the official website of the winery. Can you advice what needs to be changed?
EricLewan (talk) 08:46, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
- EricLewan As noted by the reviewer, the draft is not sourced to independent reliable sources with significant coverage. Press releases and other information from the company itself do not establish notability as Wikipedia defines a notable company. Each language version of Wikipedia is its own project with its own editors and policies, and what is acceptable on one version is not necessarily acceptable here(assuming the Ukrainian version is in keeping with their policies). 331dot (talk) 08:57, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
