The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages: Illustrations, Photographs and Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages: Talk:Graphics Lab, Talk:Illustrations, Talk:Photographs and Talk:Maps.
This specific page is the requests page for the Map workshop. Anyone can make a request for a map to be created or improved for a Wikipedia article. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.
You are encouraged to share information and request advice from others. Also see possible conventions toolbox, map tutorials and topographic map tutorials.

Advice to requesters
What do we do?
  • Sourced requests: If possible, please try to provide a reliable source to create a map. This includes a map already on Wikipedia with a reliable source or an external link.
  • Please check: Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed.
  • Direct collaboration: Some mapmakers are especially interested by one topic area. If you notice a mapmaker fitting your needs, consider asking on their personal talk page to request maps.
  • {{Reqmap}}: To request a map, you can also tag the talk page of the article in need of a map with or {{Reqmapin|Australia}} (articles then appear in Category:Wikipedia requested maps)
If a request is done to your satisfaction, please mark it with {{resolved}}.

Can I get a map that has all the trujet destinations within India? (This is a complete new map) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yellow alligator (talkcontribs) 19:32, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
@Yellow alligator:  Done. I have created a Kartographer map to show the data in the table on TruJet. These maps are easier to update and maintain than image-based maps and work well in this type of situation. You can copy the code above and use it in the article. Information on how to control how the map looks is available at Template:Maplink. If you have any questions, let me know.--AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 00:16, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@AntiCompositeNumber: ok thanks. I’ll let you know if there’s any issues.
@AntiCompositeNumber: Wait how do I edit the map? I looked into the code but I don’t see any way to add or delete destinations. Just wondering because you know it’s a airline and they keep adding and removing routes.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Yellow alligator (talkcontribs) 02:55, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Yellow alligator: Each line beginning with |id= defines a point on the map. The number beginning with Q is the Wikidata ID for the destination city, you can get it from the "Page information" or "Wikidata item" links in the sidebar of the relevant Wikipedia page. To add a new destination, copy the last line, increment the parameter number (22 to 23), and update the Wikidata ID. To add Paris, France, for example, you would add the line |id23=Q90|type23=point|marker23=airport|title23={{label|Q90}} to the template. To remove a destination, you would just remove the line with the Wikidata item for that destination. Let me know if you have any more questions, and please remember to sign your posts on discussion pages with four tildes, like this ~~~~ --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 14:31, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@AntiCompositeNumber: So how do I find out what the ID of the destination city is? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yellow alligator (talkcontribs) 19:06, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Yellow alligator: It looks like you’re editing from the mobile website, so the link to Wikidata is not as easy to find as on the desktop page. To get to the page information table, add ?action=info to the end of the URL. The Wikidata ID will be in that table. —AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 13:39, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@אבוש ג'ואל והסבא השביעי: Do you have a source for those changes? --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 14:20, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The countries are listen in the Wikipedia pages themselves. I also double checked in the Youtube "country change" tab and here https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/table/3541286 אבוש ג'ואל והסבא השביעי (talk) 20:34, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
אבוש ג'ואל והסבא השביעי,  Done, please verify that the maps are now correct. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 22:12, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Pydna

This map has several mistakes, which I would like to correct, but I don't know how to edit SVG files. So can anybody remove the texts and army routes of this file (except river names and the scale)? I need a "clean" map to make the changes. T8612 (talk) 01:29, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done Here's the file without text. It's quite easy to edit SVG files if you download an editor like Inkscape. --RaviC (talk) 10:17, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll try with Inkscape. T8612 (talk) 12:27, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@RaviC: Ok, I've corrected it with Inkscape. Hope everything is ok. T8612 (talk) 20:15, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Seems good to me! --RaviC (talk) 20:24, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Move a map scale

Request
The foci of this map are Clark County, i.e. the big light area, and Louisville, i.e. the big dark area on the southern side of the thick line representing the Ohio River. Would it be possible for you to move the scale from the bottom right corner to the bottom left or to somewhere near the top, so that it's in an area that's not the focus? Seems to me that a scale should be in a place that's otherwise not particularly significant to the map. Nyttend (talk) 20:46, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There's nothing to change here. I already updated this map a while back to add the new constituency boundaries. --RaviC (talk) 12:26, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Relief map of Northern California

Article(s)
Numerous potential applications; I intend to use it in Turtle Island (book)
Request
Hi! I'd like to make a request for a relief map of Northern California that can be used with Module:Location map/data/USA California Northern in Template:Location map. The map would be a crop of the relief map on the left with the precise borders of the map on the right, so that coordinate inputs used with the template would be located accurately on the relief map.
If it makes sense to knock out a few of these in a row for efficiency's sake, an equivalent relief map could also be made for Module:Location map/data/USA California Southern. But I'm only looking for Northern California. Thank you in advance! —BLZ · talk 21:42, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sri Lanka needs to be coloured "grey". I noticed an error on the map regarding Sri Lanka. The source attributed to the map is comprised of varied data compiled from different sources. As a result, some of the data is large scale while others are small scale and the data comes from different years. The data attributed to Sri Lanka is data from a sample in a town in Sri Lanka from 1973 and does not represent the entire population. By colouring it grey it will keep it in line with other countries like Cambodia where only isolated populations were studied. -- 2001:8003:4E41:F200:FC45:DF8:3A17:67C3 (talk) 07:11, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
