Requesting for administrators attention - I am looking for help

The user Legacypac (talk) is the suspected user on Wikipedia who decline and object quality and notable pages. Please take appropriate action against the said user.

The following article that Legacypac (talk) has declined:

  • If you have any legitimate reasons for objecting to Legacypac's declines of your submissions then you need to say what those reasons are, not just say that he is a "suspected user" (whatever that is supposed to mean). From my checks of a few of the drafts it seems that he has actually been very generous to you, for example simply advising you to reword a draft instead of tagging it for speedy deletion as a copyright infringement, raising a discussion on whether to delete another draft rather than tagging it for speedy deletion as spam and as re-creation of content deleted at an earlier deletion discussion, as many editors would have done. His handling of your drafts seems absolutely fine, from what I have seen of them. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:11, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Ki Gali

@Kautilya3: This is a matter of concern that you have moved Peer Ki Gali to Pir Panjal Pass" without getting involved in article research. In Fact, you have disrupted the current version which needs administrator's intervention. The Pir Panjal Range should be merged to "Pir Panjal Pass" but not "Peer Ki Gali". The 'pir panjal pass' represents a group of mountains while 'peer ki gali' represents a tourist spot. (Farooqahmadbhat (talk) 09:15, 23 November 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Moreover, sources said, there is no "Pir panjal Pass" But "Peer Ki Gali". The said user (Kautilya3 (talk)) has renamed the article Peer Ki Gali to Pir Panjal Pass without adding sources that could indicate the "peer ki gali" is the "Pir panjal pass". That is strange. The Pir Panjal Range says "The Pir Panjal Pass (also called Peer Ki Gali)", and you have added yesterday, a link to the new page without making any correction to the information. Sir, I was looking for the sources that could indicate "Peer Ki Gali" is also known as "Pir Panjal Pass" and i failed to gather the information from reliable sources. Since, you moved "Peer Ki Gali" to "Pir Panjal Pass", I tried a lot to collect the information about your changes and later, i realized that "Peer Ki Gali" and "Pir Panjal Pass" are not same geographically. I am surprised, that a senior user like you moved the page without supplying variable sources. Moreover, the mentioned phrase on Pir Panjal Range "The Pir Panjal Pass (also called Peer Ki Gali)" is not added by me... I have only linked "Peer Ki Gali" to the said page and the rest of words ("The Pir Panjal Pass (also called" ____) were added by another user. For native names, English language sources may be hard to get. We do depend on people with local knowledge to add such information without asking for sources. For Kashmir especially, good quality information is very hard to get.
Further, if you bothered to click on the Google maps link I gave you yesterday, you would have noticed that it is showing both at the same place.

I have investigated each and every part of Pir Panjal Pass but i am still in doubt whether it should be Peer Ki Gali or Pir Panjal Pass. Tech News

  • Because of the holidays the next issue of Tech News will be sent out on 7 January 2019.

Recent changes

  • Some templates that show notices about the content of the page will now be shown on the mobile website. In many cases they were hidden before. [1][2]
  • Admins can no longer unblock themselves, except for self-blocks. A blocked admin can block the user who blocked them but no one else. This is so no one can block all admins on a wiki without being stopped. [3]
  • Advanced item The ParserMigration extension has been removed. It compared the result of two versions of the MediaWiki wikitext parsing pipeline. It was used when we moved to the Remex parsing library instead of Tidy.

Problems

  • <ref> tags can use parameters such as "name" or "group". For example <ref name="adams" group="books">. If a <ref> tag has more than two parameters all parameters are ignored. You don't get a warning that they don't work. This will soon be fixed. [4]

Changes later this week

  • Recurrent item The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 18 December. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 19 December. It will be on all wikis from 20 December (calendar).

  • The Wikimedia Foundation Android app team are working on making it easier to edit on mobile phones. You can read more about these plans. If you have an Android phone and speak at least two languages you can help testing in English. Tell Dchen (WMF) you want to be part of the testing by writing on her talk page or email her.
  • Advanced item tiles.wmflabs.org and wma.wmflabs.org will stop working. They have no maintainers and run an old operating system. Tools which use it could stop working. This includes the mapnik gadget, hill shading, and hike and bike layers. New maintainers could help out and keep it going. [5]

Speedy tagging

You tagged the above two articles as A7 and put comments in the article. This is disruptive. If you want to comment on your A7, then do so on the article's Talk page. Even then, generally A7s don't require comments by the tagger; the issue should be obvious on its face. For example, the fact that a source returns a 404 is irrelevant to a speedy tag as for an article to survive a7, it requires only significant credible claims, whether they are sourced or not. An article can survive A7 with zero sources. I don't think you're experienced enough to tag articles for speedy deletion; I suggest you stop.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:05, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Bbb23: With due respect, my intention was not making disruptive edits. In fact, I thought it might help admins to gather the more information about the speedy tagged articles. Now, I came to know that adding comments in A7 articles is disruptive. Thanks a lot. Sir, there are many more articles which needs to be deleted under A7 and G11. If you give me one more chance to tag the articles for speedy deletion, it may help Wikipedia to remove the spam articles. I will be careful in future while tagging the articles.
