Are you thinking of uploading an image? If so, there's a good summary at WP:UPI. Basically, you have to check that you have copyright permission to upload the photo. As the reference indicates, "most images you might find on the Internet are copyrighted and not appropriate for uploading to Wikipedia. If you did not create the image, or if you are unable or unwilling to verify its copyright status, do not upload the image." So it depends on what sort of picture of Sydney Freeland you have. Hi! Yes, independent reviews would help substantiate the claims made about Christian Kirsch in your draft. Question: Is the article you are referring to the Alex Kyza draft? If so, you will have to do some research and find reliable, independent (third-party) sources that discuss the subject in significant detail. Follow the links in the message to learn about what sorts of references are considered reliable and independent on Wikipedia. @Adamross01: Hi Adam, I've formatted the references for you. The draft doesn't have a realistic chance of going live any time soon. Per WP:NFF, "films that have already begun shooting, but have not yet been publicly released should generally not have their own articles unless the production itself is notable." While you wait for the release in October, please edit the text so that sentences don't copy or closely paraphrase the sources, which is not allowed. Wikipedia can only use images that are licensed under a compatible free license. If the only images you can find of this person are copyrighted (and most images on the internet, unless specifically labeled otherwise, are under copyright), then you should just leave the picture out of the article. The lack of a picture won't make your article any less likely to be accepted. --Ahecht (TALK

@Jnorman15:, I'm not the reviewer, but some content from the "History" section sounds slightly promotional to me. In particular, the sentences "It first opened its doors in Richmond Hill in January of 2005. It is currently located on 8054 Yonge Street in old Thornhill. The clinic was established with the goal of professional, timely, and efficient patient care to anyone in need" need a bit of work. "It first opened its doors" is familiar language and should probably be replaced by "It opened". "It is currently located on 8054 Yonge Street in old Thornhill" does not need to be in the body of the encyclopedia; perhaps you can add an infobox to the article and put the address there. And finally, the statement about "professional, timely, and efficient patient care to anyone in need" reads like promotion, since there is no reference to support it and because the language chosen is buzzword-y. I am no programmer, and trying to communicate with you this way is hard for me. I am username kimoller, in fact D. Kimbrough Oller, Professor at the University of Memphis, and previous author of two wikipedia articles, one of which seems to be in fine shape, the other of which apparently needs some corrections, which I will try to do in the next month. I have just completed a new draft article on Burton D. Carley, who is an extremely prominent American clergyman of the denomination of Unitarian Universalism (see Wikipedia article). For 32 years he has pastored the Church of the River (First Unitarian Church of Memphis)(see Wikipedia article), and all along has played a nationally and internationally significant role in the denomination, which traces its history to the Reformation in central Europe (Romania, Hungary, Poland), and has been a very significant denomination in American history (Presidents John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Millard Fillmore, and William Howard Taft for example were Unitarians). Other famous Unitarians were Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. The denomination is small by comparison with Baptists for example, but extremely influential as you can see by the list of prominent players, which incidentally goes on and on.

Burton D. Carley's national profile may be best illustrated in the fact that he was selected as the lead player in the formulation of the curriculum (titled " Whose Are We? Manual of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association") that is now used to train ministers and lay leaders in Unitarian Universalism. He developed this curriculum in collaboration with the Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman, minister emerita of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas. Carley also trained the facilitators of the program. They also created a lay version of the curriculum for congregational use, and presented a program on it for the 2011 General Assembly of Unitarian Universalism. Together Carley and Hallman edited "Not for Ourselves Alone: Theological Essays on Relationship, Skinner House Books, Boston, 2014." All these facts can easily be verified with materials posted online by Unitarian Universalist Society and Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association. many of his sermons, prayers and poems are available also online. Being an academic, not a clergyman myself, I am not sure what the best references would be to make these points more verifiable. Could you advise me please?

The problem with the article is that Wikipedia policy on biographies requires that you show that the subject of the biography has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article. This means that you generally would need to cite multiple examples of a reliable source unaffiliated with Mr. Carley or his church, writing about the person. For example, if his writings are widely cited by his peers, adding examples of specific citations to the article would probably be sufficient. --Ahecht (TALK

@Etna-research: We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42. Your four existing references all require replacement with references that meet all of these criteria.. Limited deployment of primary sources such as the org's own web site are allowed. See WP:PRIMARY, but deploying that in {{Infobox school}} is a far better way. At present the draft would be susceptible to immediate nomination for one of the deletion processes were it in main namespace.
Trust our automatic contents generation. Please remove the hard coded 'contents' section.

Many of the references are regurgitated press releases and PR material. These must be replaced or removed, please. They provide an aura of faux notability which is not required and adds no value. Indeed it diminishes Wikipedia's value."

However, when I viewed a company from the same "industry" wiki page for instance, eBay, they were allowed to publish their prohibitory items as part of their content. Why is this so? Shouldn't there be standardization for every wiki page?

Also, as mentioned there were credibility issues raised with regards to my sources. What then will equate to being a good source if I were to retrieve most sources from the web? Online news article on Carousell for example? Please assist. Thank you.

On the contrary, this is not urgent at all. Wikipedia does not have, nor need, articles about every political party registered with the UK Electoral Commission. Your organisation must meet the requirements of Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) in order for an article about it to exist on Wikipedia. Official Monster Raving Loony Party is an example of a UK political party that meets those requirements... though the sources provided for its Wikipedia article could be improved. @Emma Stanley: The problem is that the sources you have given are either unsuitable (eg: IMDB, other Wikipedia articles) or don't give us sufficient information to show why he should have a Wikipedia article. On the "Submission declined" box, you can see some links to search for other sources, one of which is this news search which brings back several hits mentioning him. The sources are mostly non-English (mainly French, one Romanian), but if you can pick out sufficient information from those, they could be used. Dear editors, we are surprised by the rejection of the Metropolitan Touring entry as we modeled it closely on the existing Hilton Hotel entry (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilton_Hotels_%26_Resorts). The rejection also notes a lack of independent sources, but all sources we indicated as footnotes are independent. We would therefore appreciate a more precise review of the submission, indicating specific points wherein the text reads like advertising, so that we can change this.

@Etica: It's not a good idea to use an arbitrary Wikipedia article as an example to base yours off of. Since anyone can edit Wikipedia, existing articles are of varying quality. If you visit the Talk page of the Hilton article and click on "show" next to the Wikiproject banners, you will see that it is only rated "Start-class" on those project's quality scale. You would be better off using B-class, Good, and Featured articles as examples instead.
As to your sources, Wikipedia requires that you show significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article. The Cruise Critic reviews are user-generated and therefore not reliable sources. The other sources aren't significant coverage of the company itself -- they are mostly about the destinations or a certain ship/property. --Ahecht (TALK

@Etica: I'll add also that some of the "Current Properties" section of the draft reads rather promotionally. Sentences like "La Pinta, a 207-foot yacht, is considered one of the top luxury vessels sailing the archipelago, and designed for the luxury segment in the tourism market" could be interpreted as an advertisement for the boat. The biographical data I submitted in December 2013 on Ralph Hodsdon Leavitt was published this month in On-Point, an Army History Journal, April 2015 with title "One Soldier's Experiences in War," as well as with many illustrations. Author is same. Dr. Ellen NicKenzie Lawson. @Whitesquire: The AfC process is designed to be a method for unregistered users to have their articles approved (since non-registered users can't create articles). It's also a good way to improve an article in a "safe" draft space without worrying about the article being nominated for deletion. Since you are a registered user, you are allowed to create an article right away without using the AfC process. But the AfC process is a good method too, and it tends to provide useful article feedback. Hang tight; it shouldn't be too long of a wait. wia (talk) 01:50, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Whitesquire: Every editor (after a short qualifying period) has access to the Move function. Wikipedia:Moving a page tells you all. I do suggest, though, that you allow the WP:AFC review process to play itself out. Why? Our role as reviewers is to seek to ensure that an article will not immediately be subject to one of our deletion processes when it is accepted. That is why we push it back to the author. We want to accept articles. I'm going to have a look at your draft with particular attention to referencing. I may be able to accept or push to back to you if I feel I'm competent to do either. @Timtrent: Okay, I appreciate your efforts, and I noticed that same thing about an existing article on the subject. However, I could only find the main article titled "South Carolina Gamecocks", which is about all of their sports teams, not just golf. I bring this to your attention in the hopes of not accidentally having the main article replaced with mine. I am trying to add an article on the place where I work. It is (and the title of the article) The Center for Computational Science at the University of Miami. There are no bold claims, just facts about what they do and what equipment they have. There are at least 6 cites. I don't understand why the eVeritas (UM Journal), WorldNews, and Top 500 Supercomputers list site are not enough to verify all the 'claims' (statement of facts) in the article. It's not like any research theories are being proposed. We here (location), we do this (list of topics), we offer this (equipment specs). The Center has been around since 2007. It's part of the UM Research network. If it's not 'important' enough, then okay, but it's verifiable by reliable sources (in my opinion). I feel like I have adequately cited it. Would you please tell me what else I can do (if there is anything)? I want people to know the CCS exists. It's as big a part of UM as anything else already listed there.

@Actionmoviefreak: Hi! One issue I see with the references is that they are mostly primary sources. It's fine to use primary sources to supplement the core information of an article, but they shouldn't be used as the main references for notability purposes. This is because primary sources are often not independent of the subject-matter at hand. Of the six references in the article, one is a press release and four are published under or by the University of Miami. Only one is independent, but it doesn't say anything substantial about the Center for Computational Science. If I were you, I'd try to find some independent, third-party sources that discuss the CfCC in significant detail. Thanks, wia (talk) 13:37, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
All except one of the references originate from the University itself and the only one that doesn't is merely a listing. You need to find and use a few totally independent sources that specifically discuss the CCS in substantial detail - only then will the subject's notability be established. Thanks for everyone who has helped me thus far. This is my first attempt at creating a wiki page. One of the problems I am facing is I have very solid photographic evidence for all the data I am posting, and sometimes I see that it is more accurate data than what printed or online sources show. Specifically, about ten years ago I saved hundreds of photos off from e-bay that prove my data, but of course I cannot upload these photos. So I can appeal to faulty sources, or I can post what I know to be true based on photographic evidence. Could I use as a reference a current e-bay listing? The challenge you face with personal evidence is that it is considered to be anecdotal, and thus not properly admissible. You point out correctly that eBay sources are not useful. This is doubly the case since any pictures there are often breaches of copyright anyway. Linking to them would be a major issue for us.
WP:TRUTH may infuriate you, but it is a guiding principle. We will always prefer that which is cited to be true over that which is known to be correct. One thing you might find hard to do is to step away from the article for a while, actually a good while, and monitor what happens to it now it has been accepted. Be its father, not its mother. Let others have a go. Yes, revert vandalism, but allow yourself to be pleased when someone else picks up the baton, even, perhaps especially, when they have a different approach from your own. I wrote for assistance a few days ago but could not initially find a record of my message, but now with some help I have found it, along with a response. I now have a more concrete inquiry about verifiability and notability. I submitted an article about Burton D, Carley (not accepted yet, on notability and verifiability grounds), who is a very prominent national level clergyman of Unitarian Universalism (see Wikipedia article) and has been pastor of the Church of the River (First Unitarian Church of Memphis) (see Wikipedia article) for 32 years. The fact that he is a prominent leader is easy to verify in a regular magazine publication called UU World. If I include in the submitted (revised) article, website locations where the archive of the magazine (published quarterly since at least 1999, with a current circulation of 126,000) provides independent references to his roles in the national organization, would that be sufficient to meet the verifiability and notability requirements? There are additional independent sources like this that verify Carley's role as a significant leader in Unitarian Universalism. Would it be useful to cite more of these additional sources? Would website addresses where information from these sources can be found be sufficient? For mentions in the magazine, we can cite issues, dates and page numbers of references to him if necessary, but I think it would seem to clutter the article.

There are 3 people who have made significant steps in ventriloquism by continuing the Maher Studio which is a place that was run by Clinton Detweiler for many years before his passing and got many involved and staying active in ventriloquism including Jeff Dunham, Willie Tyler and Terry Fator. The also started a International Ventriloquist Society online in 2013. They are also play a major part in the Vent Haven Ventriloquist Convention held in Cincinnati since 1974. Their names are Mark Wade, Ken Groves and Tom Crowl. As of yet I have not been able to get these gentleman on Wikipedia. You have Jeff Dunham and Terry Fator on Wikipedia and if you asked both of them they would tell you that these gentlemen belong on here as well. Please let me know what I need to do. If you need references from Jeff, Terry, Ronn Lucas, Jimmy Nelson and Willie Tyler all of which who are on Wikipedia then let me know who they need to email to get Mark, Ken and Tom on Wikipedia. All of them would be more than happy to let you know what these three have done for the ventriloquist community. It's hard to find references but not hard to find people that would back what I'm saying. Thank you for your time.

However, the links does not lead to the article I submitted. In fact, that article is gone. When i go to my sandbox, I get this message: This is a redirect from a page that has been moved (renamed).

I don't know what that means, or why it has been redirected. there is no explanation. and, in fact, the link provided there, is STILL not to my article.

I'm ripping my hair out here, since this whole system seems geared towards the techsavvy. And noobs are left to fend for themselves.

no reasons are given for things that happen, and it's like swimming through molasses to try and figure anything out.
