USA/Canada location map request
- Article(s)
- North American Rugby League
- Request
- There are numerous location maps of the USA commons:Category:Location maps of the United Statesand of Canada commons:Category:Location maps of Canada but none covering the two countries together. Can someone produce a location map based on the two listed above? -- Nthep (talk) 16:25, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Discussion
- @Nthep: Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but this map is already on commons. Zoozaz1 talk 16:10, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, Commons:File:USA and Canada on world map.svg might be more what you are looking for. Zoozaz1 talk 16:13, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the links but neither are really what I'm after. The PNG is the right geographical area but needs to be svg and in the "standard" colour scheme. Nthep (talk) 16:30, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
- thanks, I hadn't seen that one. I'll try it out. Nthep (talk) 12:55, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
Request: Adjusting combined British and Mongol Empire map
-
A map of the British (red) and Mongol (blue) empires at their respective greatest extents
- Article(s)
- List of largest empires
- Request
- Hello! This map has been used at List of largest empires until Kimand299 noted that
The mongol empire never went that far into eastern europe even at its greatest extent
and removed it. I think that this would be fixed if the map used the European border from this version of the Mongol Empire map instead of this version, but I'm not entirely sure so Kimand299 may have to correct me on that. We also noted that it's rather difficult to tell that Hong Kong was part of the British Empire without zooming in quite closely, which I'm not sure how best to solve (it is rather a small territory, so maybe it's okay that zooming in to see it is necessary?). There may be other issues that Kimand299 have noticed—I'll let them elaborate on that if that's the case.

- I've contacted Kimand299 to ask for any useful comments before proceeding to offer to amend the map. Amitchell125 (talk) 10:57, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
Request: svg map of Greece and Turkey
- Article(s)
- Agesilaus II
- I'm looking for an extended map of the one displayed above, which would go at least to Ankara. The reason is to show the campaign of Agesilaus II, who moved from Greece to a city near Ankara. I only need a topographic map (no mention of places needed). T8612 (talk) 13:26, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Topography and Bathometry: https://www.lrg.tum.de/iapg/forschung/topographie/earth2014/ — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 09:24, 15 May 2021 (UTC) - Pavouk I made already a map of the Panonian Basin. If this one looks OK for you I can try to extend or create a similar one for the Carpathians but this will take me a bit of time. --Ikonact (talk) 09:56, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ikonact Wonderful! Just similar + just little territory on the east (Ukraina, Romania) --Pavouk (talk) 10:06, 19 May 2021 (UTC).
- PavoukJust to understand... do you like to have the one on the Panonian Basin extended to the east or you would like to have a new one focused on the Carpathian mountains like File:Carpathians_dem.jpg? That's right that the difference is not enormous but in the second case I will cut the western part a bit :-) I checked and in both cases I have to work on a new map as the one of the Panonian Basin is not easily extendable to the east. --Ikonact (talk) 10:12, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ikonact A new one, focused on the Carpathian mountains (and small surrounded area), like File:Carpathians_dem.jpg may be not so big area around. --Pavouk (talk) 10:18, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Pavouk OK. I take that and will be back to you in few days. --Ikonact (talk) 10:22, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Pavouk I made a first draft here. It is still a very draft but with it I would like to know if the limits and the map are in line with your expectations. Please let me know any comment you have at this stage. --Ikonact (talk) 21:19, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ikonact South of Carpathian is " 44°22′N 22°06′E " (en:Serbian_Carpathians#Definitions), so its OK, the west is line approximately betwwen Vienna and Brno, see [1], so move map a little to the West. May be the westernmost part is de:Leiser Berge, so about "16° 24′ 0″ E". North and east are OK. --Pavouk (talk) 21:57, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
