Xcode is Apple's set of programs or tools used to help write computer programs. It includes the tools for designing, coding the program, and fixing bugs. This type of software is called an integrated development environment (or IDE). It means it has most of the tools necessary to write new programs. It currently supports Apple's Swift, Java, Python, AppleScript, C, Ruby,and others.

The first version of Xcode was released by Apple in 2003. Xcode is only on macOS. Xcode is used to make software for macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.
