Academic Theory Section in Disability and LGBTQ identities
[edit]Hello! I'm in a course through Wiki.Edu for my college course that involved me helping to edit/create a new page. I was looking into the article Disability and LGBTQ identities and saw that the Academic theory section needs more expansion. I'm hoping to expand the section with further literature and social theories from multiple academic researchers in the field. I wanted to get anyone's feedback on what I should keep in mind while editing this section and/or any resources you might have to help me write it! Thank you! - Which group? General knowledge questions should go to the Reference desk. I hope you get clarity there, but please take care to write your question clearly. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 20:38, 1 November 2025 (UTC)

Casting of Disabled Literary and Historical Figures
[edit]I started work a while back researching one character Richard III because he is both a disabled historical figure and a character in Shakespeare's play where his disability is purposefully not historically accurate... along with lots of other details too. As it is the first play as far as I'm aware of, that looks at ableism, I thought that was a great place to start.
I have created a well researched draft of all the castings in the UK and US for about the past 100 years and created a list that I tried to publish. It keeps getting knocked back but to me a least the reasons don't make a great deal of sense. I was going to start researching others but if I keep getting blocked then I'm not sure if that is a sensible way to spend my time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Disability and Music
[edit]Hello, I started learning Wikipedia editing today in order to flesh out the page on Mik Scarlet, which mentioned his music career but did not go into any detail. I am interested in the intersection of music and disability, especially in regard to rock music and its infinite sub-genres.
It does not look like there is a list specifically of disabled musicians, but perhaps I'm just not finding it. If not, I would be interested in working to build one. Msabal (talk) 20:39, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

RFC and request for assistance
[edit]Hi everyone. I'm reaching out to ask that anyone who's interested and able assist me in one of two tasks on the Clouding of consciousness ('Brain fog') page. The first of these would be to provide their opinion on an outstanding RFC (several months old) which has recently reached a position of far greater import given the massive expansion to the article that's been performed in the past several months (a personal project of mine, which I'm finding only continues to become more daunting with each passing day and referencing deep-dive). The second would be to assist in general cleanup, sourcing, and text-body additions based upon the headings and expand tags listed in the article, if only as a general starting/reference point that I can use going forward, at the pace of about a section a day, though I keep finding that there's so much more to be said on nearly every topic I place my focus on.
(I'd happily promise a Barnstar to anyone who could assist (If you don't get one, feel free to leave a message on my talk page)). I'd ask that none of the tags or sections (many of which are bare) be removed unless the requested task be completed, as this is effectively scaffolding for something that I expect to be finished with by the close of the year, and which will thus not be so persistent that it confounds the ability of readers to make proper use of the page; in fact, I'd argue that both the expand tags and bare references provide a critical reference point for readers, given that a great number of references to every topic in relation to brain fog can be found with a quick google search (or a slightly longer PubMed/Elsevier/Oxford/etc. search).
This comment is being posted to the talk page for every relevant WikiProject, so I'm hoping this will get a fair degree of traction. Unfortunately, (if I can get myself out of this procrastination spiral) prior commitments/deadlines mean that I won't be making many additions to the page over the coming weeks. I do ask, though, that you respect the requests made above, not out of any responsibility you have to me, or out of any claim of ownership to the material I've thus far written (trust me, I know the policies), but simply to ensure that the topic is covered to the best degree possible. In any event, I'm very much looking forward to seeing a bit more life on the page (admittedly, it's been a bit of a lonely project over the past several months), and to seeing as many of you there as are willing. When time allows, I'll make a great effort to help out with any requests that are made of me for assistance with other pages/projects, by any of you, as a token of my appreciation. My thanks to all in advance, and best wishes as we approach the New Year. Best - CSGinger14 (talk) 06:31, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates
[edit]For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:
- "This article has been rated as Low-importance on the importance scale."
There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners. Simple neurodiversity wording bot (seeking early feedback and co-operators)
[edit]Hi all,
I am planning a future BRFA for a small wording bot focused on neurodiversity and disability related articles. Before I file, I would like some early feedback from bot operators and anyone interested in co-operating.
Very short summary of the task:
- Scope: pages in and articles tagged by WikiProject Autism and WikiProject Disability that are clearly about neurodivergence.
- Function: perform only very simple, consensus based wording changes, for example
- “suffers from autism/ADHD/etc” → “has autism/ADHD/etc”
- “afflicted with autism/ADHD/etc” → “has autism/ADHD/etc”
- “wheelchair bound” or “wheelchair-bound” → “wheelchair user”
- Safeguards:
- Mainspace only, respect and page level opt outs.
- Skip text inside quotation marks and quote templates.
- Low edit rate, with logging and a simple kill switch.
I am specifically looking for feedback on:
- Whether these replacements look suitable for automatic editing given the narrow scope and safeguards.
- Any obvious edge cases or patterns that should be excluded or handled differently from the beginning.
- Any additional phrase patterns in this space that are clearly safe for a bot and already have strong consensus replacements.
If anyone is interested in reviewing code, co-operating, or sharing examples of similar wording bots and their BRFAs, that would also be very helpful.
Thanks in advance. Docmoates (talk) 22:09, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
