User script Vectron

[edit]

Watchers of this page might be interested in new user scriptUser:Andrybak/Vectron, which automatically toggles between wide and narrow Vector 2022, depending on the type of the page. Narrow: only the regular "wiki pages" for reading (including talk pages). Wide: editor, diffs, history, special pages (e.g. watchlist), JavaScript, Lua modules, everything else. The script is rough around the edges (the pages "jump" into correct state in front of your eyes). Feedback and suggestions are welcome at the talk page. —andrybak (talk) 00:00, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Accessibility for reading – Appearance menu

[edit]
Old version of unpinned appearance menu

It would seem that Accessibility for reading has been rolled out to English Wikipedia – I now see the "Appearance" menu pinned in the right sidebar. Section How to expand the width of the new skin about the toggle button needs to be updated, because the toggle button is now gone. —andrybak (talk) 14:57, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

See also the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 213#Appearance dropbox menu. —andrybak (talk) 21:11, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Andrybak: I updated the FAQ. Feel free to adjust this. SCP-2000 03:38, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

TOC

[edit]

There would seem to be a problem with TOCs when using this skin. See the following threads:

Yes, most of the old TOC tricks have never worked with Vector 2022. It appears that someone got it working by using {{Compact TOC}}. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:59, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So how to get "top" to work in the Glossary of cue sports terms?  Alan  (talk) 14:13, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have responded at the second thread linked above, since the issue occurs only on that page. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:23, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ugly af

[edit]

Please rework, a lot of users don't like it. Sinuhe20 (talk) 21:53, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Too late. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:37, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Seconded. I've loathed the new layout on English Wikipedia pages for quite a while - and now German Wikipedia pages are affected as well. A terrible "improvement" which unfortunately cannot be avoided without creating a user account. 2003:E6:3714:5800:CD5B:1EAF:C77A:A564 (talk) 12:01, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
