Comment by Idag
[edit]To clarify, Edward (User Spinoza1111) has been indefblocked for personal attacks and harassing other users.[1] Idag (talk) 23:56, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Attempt to Resolve Dispute
[edit]In response to Lilith pointing out my "harsh" language, I only left that comment after it became clear that Lilith was more interested in arguing and insulting other editors than contributing to Wikipedia in a constructive way. While I admit that I could have been a little nicer, there's only so many ways that you can respond to someone who calls you a "thief", "thug", "pornographer", and "convenience store clerk" (while I know many intelligent convenience store clerks, the context implies that Lilith and Edward intend for that phrase to be derogatory). Lilith clearly has no intention of doing anything constructive on Wikipedia (as evidenced by the fact that she can't even remain civil during her RfC response), so there is no point in letting her remain solely to stir up arguments and insult other users. Endorsement
[edit]I have endorsed the summary. I have not attempted to resolve the dispute with this particular user, because I believe the account is yet another sockpuppet of Edward Nilges. Nilges has previously made it clear to me that civil discourse is impossible ([2],[3]), so I'm not going to waste my time trying. -- Coneslayer (talk) 14:21, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
question
[edit]This user has accused Wikipedia editors "endanger[ing]...the physical safety of women" (referring to the subject of a specific Wikipedia article). What are the grounds for this accusation? What specific edits (please provide diffs) endangered somebody's safety? Bwrs (talk) 19:55, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Looking through some of Lilith and Edward's past edits, I think "she" is referring to the Kathy Sierra article (neither Lilith nor Edward was involved with any other article that dealt with women). It looks like Edward felt that Wikipedia's portrayal of Kathy Sierra's harassment was inadequate. [4] Idag (talk) 05:23, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please elaborate more specifically on how any editor's actions regarding Kathy Sierra's article endanger her or anybody's safety. The missive that you link to above is somewhat confusing. Thank you. Bwrs (talk) 21:42, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- They don't. Edward felt that when Wikipedia did not properly report harassment that happened in the real world, then that made people unsafe. Idag (talk) 23:43, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
