Seasonality
[edit]Idea B proposes that "Chronic inactivity may also lead to a desysop if an administrator has totaled 24 or more calendar months without an edit or logged action over the last 5 years of adminship or since their last RfA (whichever is shorter)." As a community we have long been open to people who are volunteers with real life commitments. Whether that's people with seasonal jobs or seasonal hobbies the military or acting, we have been open to involvement by people who volunteer when they can and don't need to give an excuse for not being here when they are elsewhere. The proposal to redefine chronic activity to include people who are here some months and not others is in my view unneeded, unhealthy and discriminatory to people in the military etc. I'm not sure why we would want to desysop people who are here some months and not others, and I don't see any benefit from doing so. But it definitely isn't something we should describe as "Chronic inactivity". Episodic inactivity perhaps, but it isn't chronic inactivity. I think my proposed Idea D: 600 edits or logged actions in the last 6 years is a test for chronic inactivity. ϢereSpielChequers 18:36, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
