Wikipedia talk:Requests for comment/Central Notices

You can't really have a discussion of CentralNotices on a specific Wikimedia wiki. You need a meta-wiki like... Meta-Wiki. There was an RFC about the usage of CentralNotice here: m:Requests for comment/Global banners. I'd use that page as a platform for future discussions. --MZMcBride (talk) 17:27, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- I agree; this RFC should be deleted with an edit summary pointing people to meta:Requests for comment/Global banners. John Vandenberg (chat) 23:55, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- The whole point is to address the issue of Central Notices on en.wiki - Meta is cross-wiki.... I feel that pushing it there simply stifles the opportunity for English Wikipedians to contribute. The whole point is to establish a consensus view to present on Meta/to the Foundation. :) [or to put it a different way; it seems unfair to raise en.wiki issues specifically for discussion on Meta-wiki; especially as any consensus may dominate other wiki's views... I dislike the idea of one Wiki dominating others - indeed, Meta is for general collaboration, and each community should also make up their own minds] --Errant (chat!) 00:00, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Also, minor point, but the page title (iff this page is to exist at all) should be Wikipedia:Requests for comment/CentralNotice or Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Central notices. The current title ("Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Central Notices") is a bit of an eggcorn or something. --MZMcBride (talk) 17:30, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- It really doesn't matter... but if it is bothering you feel free to move :) --Errant (chat!) 00:05, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
