No Snowball, Please
[edit]Although the first 24 hours of my RFA have produced more opposition than support, I would appreciate the community allowing me to continue through the full 7 days. I value comments like those of Ioeth and Shirik: they give me clear directions for the future. I have disturbed some customs in this RFA: I accept the reactions. Modest Edit Count
[edit]Concerning my modest edit count: I work, have a family and train many hours a week in martial arts - there are not too many hours left for Wikipedia. My wife in particular does not assume anything good about Wikipedia - I have my editing bursts when there is a Robert Redford movie on<g>. I confess to occasionally watching 'Pretty Woman': if I pass this RFA, I promise to work instead in Admin areas during the movie. jmcw (talk) 14:05, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- JMCW, I personally don't mean to discourage you. The community presumably does not think negatively of you. In fact, you have a good chance of becoming an administrator - but in my opinion, not now. The community might generally prefer you to expand your editing work beyond Karate, and might also perhaps prefer you undertaking quasi-admin tasks in the between. Believe me, six months of regular involvement across the pedia and you could surely come in handy as a trusted admin. Examples like User:SpacemanSpiff should help you understand that it perhaps is not time spent on Wikipedia that is more important, than editing. I wish you good. [edit]I see no great progress in the last day and I wish not to engender more bitterness in the community.
To the people who have expressed support and have given suggestions, thank you - you will see me in the admin space more often.
To the people who could not get beyond my disturbance of the RFA ritual and to whom I have been a pebble over which they have stumbled on their path through Wikipedia, sorry.
