[edit]I'm kind of torn on this one. The supporters are very impressive. I respect the contributions of the candidate very much. But I remain concerned about the maturity issues and some of the responses to the questions. Is it possible for a veteran admin to mentor? Is it possible for the candidate to agree to only block with consensus except in cases of vandalism? I'd like to support this candidate, but I am very nervous about unleashing them :) without any checks and balances. The oppose column looks like an awfully lonely place to be, so if someone can reassure me or the candidate can respond to my concerns I would appreciate it. - I think Pedro mentored him in 2008. You could ask him for reassurance, if his support doesn't convince you :) The oppose section being empty is usually considered a good thing. Jafeluv (talk) 07:35, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- I refactored to clarify that I meant I'd like to have an excuse to avoid being lonely in the oppose section. :) Perhaps the nom will address my worries? ChildofMidnight (talk) 08:44, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- I understand your concerns; hell, had I not nominated, I probably could have come up with a few reasons to oppose. :) That said, I think Ceranthor is generally a thoughtful and clueful person, and is unlikely to go rouge with the bit. I'm also confident Ceranthor has the ability to learn on the job. So, it's your call, but I don't think you'll regret supporting. Cheers, –Juliancolton | Talk 16:48, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

- Don't pay any attention to who the supporters are; Pedro opposed my RfA, for instance, so I know his judgement is faulty. Do what you think is right and bugger the consequences. --Malleus Fatuorum 17:22, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Wasn't Pedro one of the most vocal supporters at your second RFA Malleus? Faulty judgement indeed then. Your point is valid though - RFA is subjective and one should comment as they please. Pedro : Chat 18:58, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- I only remember the bad times Pedro, I take the good times for granted. ;-) I just meant that CoM shouldn't feel lonely in the oppose section if (s)he feels uncomfortable in support. I've not infrequently been one of the few opposers in an RfA, and sometimes even the first, but I don't give a toss. What's right is right. To be truthful, I kind of worry that CoM doesn't see it that way as well. --Malleus Fatuorum 20:18, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed - there is no reason to feel concerned CoM about being the lone vote of opposition. After all one would not feel concerned being the lone vote of support for something. Having said that, context is important. An RFA on Wikipedia is, after all, not some life changing event (much as some seem to think it is!) Pedro : Chat 20:40, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
