How successful is successful?

83%: 94 supports 17%: 19 Opposes 00%: 5 Neutrals
83% support doesn't seem like enough to successfully appoint an admin, considering the relative strength of the support & oppose !votes. Looked at another way, 20% of those expressing an opinion on this RfA
Removing !votes without stated reasons yields:
79%: 67 supports (Subtracted 29%, !votes 2,3,4,5,15,27,30,31,32,33,48,50,55,60,63,65,67,71,73,74,78,81,82,89,90,91,93) 21%: 18 Opposes (Subtracted 5%, !vote 15) 00%: 5 Neutrals
Without discounting me too & per xxx !votes or discounting !votes that don't explicitly state a reason, 30% of the candidate's support is discountable as being without a stated rationale. Only 5% of the oppose !votes could be similarly discounted. This is a very weak consensus, and I worry that a newfound ability to delete outright (rather than propose deletion), coupled with a history of communication difficulties, particularly regarding content removal, is not int he best interest of the project.
Bj has a demonstrable knowledge of image policy; I question why that is used overwhelmingly to delete content rather than improve it and make it keepable. I hope we've made a good decision in adding this admin, but I suspect we haven't honored community sentiment, particularly the consensus-defeating 20% minority who don't find Bj to be a good candidate for adminship at this time. --SSBohio 15:29, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
