Long current driver lists

[edit]

Just wondering if there's a precedent for turning long current driver lists on motorsport teams infoboxes into its own section of the article? Just looking at some of the F1 Feeder Series driver lineups (specifically Prema Racing) and we already do a similar thing for Teams' championship and driver's championship results. I mentioned this on the talk page over there a few hours ago but it's never been used before so I don't know whether anyone would respond from there alone.

Ideally we would only have to do a list of current drivers and the series they're in for the year but it could be an option to model it after something like a Driver Academy page? Would love thoughts because looking at the super long list of drivers is a little impractical. QWisps (talk) 03:44, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It sounds like a good idea. Perhaps you may want to draft one up in your sandbox and let us know so that we can review it first. Assadzadeh (talk) 05:09, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Back here to say I drafted up a bunch of different versions for a Current Drivers page: here. These ones are pretty Prema specific but I'm sure it can all be adapted to fit the pages that we'd need them in. Side Note: the actual tables won't be inline, just used it to make the changes obvious. Would love feedback! QWisps (talk) 05:42, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Versions 2A and 2B look the same to me, what am I missing? Assadzadeh (talk) 06:30, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Prema operate a bunch of cars for other teams (eg. Mumbai Falcons) so 2A includes drivers from championships like GB3, F4 Middle East and FR Middle East, in which case I put the series in italics (and the drivers if they only competed for Prema via . That one specifically is a Prema thing, I'm not aware of many other teams who do it. QWisps (talk) 06:38, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. In my opinion, I prefer Version 1 for its simplicity, preferably w/ numbers, but w/o is OK too.
Also, you said that "the actual tables won't be inline", but I assume you meant the descriptors (e.g. "Version 1A (w/ numbers)"). Otherwise, without the table format, it becomes more difficult to decipher, just like the original infobox. Assadzadeh (talk) 12:58, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeap! Seems like the general consensus has settled on 1A too but I won't change it immediately in case anyone else wants to add anything. QWisps (talk) 22:04, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think that version 1 or 2 are the best, with version 1 specifically looking the most aesthetically pleasing to me personally. I don't think version 3 should be used because of how much extra info there is that is hard to maintain. GalacticVelocity08 (talk) 14:00, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
1A Looks the best and easiest to decipher for a reader to me DartsF4 (talk) 15:28, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
1A for me. MB2437 20:31, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mario Ilien

[edit]

An editor has posed a question about Mario Ilien's involvement in the modification a four-cylinder Chrysler-Simca for use in a Le Mans prototype run by Fred Stalder's Racing Organisation Course team in 1972.
