Regular font tags?
[edit]Is this the place to list regular font tags, as opposed to invalid font tags? For example User:Maedin (164 pages). —Bruce1eetalk 12:58, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think the consensus a while ago was that Legobot was so good at fixing well-formed font tags that they didn't need to be listed here. Legobot, if it still operates as it used to, will fix font tags on any page, as long as it is able to fix every Linter error on the page. That means that we need to focus on the other types of errors to leave pages in a state where Legobot can do its work. In most of my Linter edits, I try to fix every non-obsolete-tag error, leaving the obsolete tags for bots.
- I clicked on a few random links in that User:Maedin search, and on each page, there were missing end tags, misnested tags, or both. I recommend fixing those errors and leaving the font tags unless they are easy for you to fix. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:17, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll do as you suggest: clear all errors except the obsolete font tags, which I'll leave for a bot. —Bruce1eetalk 15:39, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
Misnested bigs on WIR 2016s
[edit]Found a set of multiple Women in Red invites/wrapups from 2016 that each have two misnested big tags (stripped by bulleting) and each contain a decent quantity of pages to feed the bot (60-120, avg ~90). Would like to add them here, but I suspect that the searches and the data to add here could be tighter/more concise since there are a few cases I'm finding where there are slight variants.
Would it be better as I have it written with the complete (short) table of each, or should I tighten it down to just critical lines, ie just big big to /big /big? Also, how critical is it that the search only covers the one error set, or can there be some overlapping, given it's only turning up these WIRs with the same error and not other items? Is this overlap ok? (mainly it's the WIR12/13s doing the overlapping)
My sandbox for reference. Zinnober9 (talk) 19:59, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Nice work. I would strip each find/replace pattern to the relevant code. I did the first one as an example. It is OK for there to be overlapping of search results. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:18, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Great, thank you! I'll add these after I've found and checked for some of the paired wrapups that I didn't find on the initial few talk pages I'd been using as source material. I suspect all WIR Invites/Wrapups 8-17 likely have this error, just want to make sure so I can add them all in one go. Zinnober9 (talk) 22:20, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
