Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/V (programming language) (3rd nomination)
merging?
[edit]North8000 and Tyw7 I think we should merge these two nominations and possibly CSD discussion if there is one (I'm not that familiar with how CSD's work, so I don't know if any discussion happens with that.) Since it has been a number of months since the article was re-created--even if it was indeed identical--I think it would be better to just do the long process--unless it can be verified that the deleted article is nearly identical to the current one. --David Tornheim (talk) 18:42, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- David Tornheim, sounds good. We can merge to the 3rd nomination. But if they are identical CSDs are perhaps more appropriate.--Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 18:48, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Tyw7: That is probably best. My only concern is that some of the automated link creation might get confused by the 4th nomination. It automatically created all the links for all the past nominations somehow--including this one. I will start improving this one as the desired place for comment in the meantime. --David Tornheim (talk) 18:53, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- David Tornheim, I think the admin User:RoySmith is sorting this out. I assume he will delete the 4th nomination. --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 18:54, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- Tyw7, Yeah, I'm on it. Please hold off doing anything until I'm done. -- RoySmith (talk) 18:54, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- RoySmith, ok. --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 18:55, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- @RoySmith: thanks for your help. If something like this happens again, what's the best way to handle it? --David Tornheim (talk) 18:59, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Fixed
[edit]I'm not sure what happened originally, but I think I've got everything sorted. I deleted the 4th nomination, and manually fixed up all the places (that I could find) which reference this to point to the right place. If anybody finds anything else broken, please ping me. I see this has also been tagged for WP:CSD. That seems odd, but I've left that alone. -- RoySmith (talk) 19:01, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Nomination comment
[edit]Since the talk page was deleted, the nomination statement was unknowable. Thanks to an irresponsible great admin, this was the reason by North8000:
Reviewed under new article curation process. No indication of wp:notability. Actually zero coverage by independent sources in the references given in the article (which aren't actually references) , and I found none in a search except some notes in blogs. Article was previously deleted twice (the 2nd closed on Fen 25th 2020) and then immediately created Feb 25th upon deletion. Possibly it should be a speedy closed and salted.
