Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Rocket.Chat

Hello,

As a user, not a developer, company member or otherwise affiliated with Rocket.Chat, I would like that a page exists with info and news so that I can share with friends and colleagues. It also raises awareness.

What is needed to get a new page back online that conforms with wikipedia's guidelines? Can Riot.im be used as a template for example?

I'm also a user of Riot/Matrix and Slack, which are similar collaboration tools.

Rocket.chat should return as an article.

The consensus for deletion was far from clear. If it sounded like an advertisement, why not put a maintenance tag? That there is no rocket.chat article at this point is a bit of an embarrassment. Epachamo (talk) 03:39, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I was searching for some info about Rocket.Chat, not the company but the chat client, and found this page. Embarrassing for Wikipedia I think, indeed!

Of course a page about something like Rocket.Chat should follow any standards that apply to such pages, whether being open-source or commercial software and/or being a non-profit-association or enterprise. But deletion is not an option.

Until the page has been edited to meet certain standards the appropriate "warning tag" should be added. But as soon as standards are met the page should be as any other page is. As a long-term user and donor I challenge the decision made and ask this page to be restored, even if it is first edited to an acceptable state.
