Hi, I'm not very experienced with Wikipedia, so if this is the wrong place to react to the pending deletion announcement, forgive me and tell me where else to go. What I am experienced in is the teaching principle called "Learning by teaching", which is - with all due respect - not at all "neuro-woo". It is an accepted alternative to more traditional, teacher-centred teaching styles. Using "Learning by Teaching", teachers give 'power' to the students by allowing, encouraging and guiding them to take the teacher's role (usually in pairs), and by supporting them in the preparation of the lesson. "Learning by Teaching" is taught at a number of universities in Germany and in other German-speaking countries, and the fact that its main protagonist and developer, Prof. Dr. Jean-Pol Martin, wrote the article should not be a reason for complete removal. Maybe some phrases sound more "advertisement-like" because English is not one of Prof. Martin's strengths. He is French by birth, and has spent the last four or so decades in Germany, researching and teaching, mainly the didactics of French, but also the general application of "Learning by Teaching" for all sorts of subjects. If it is in accordance with Wikipedia rules, I would endeavour to re-write the Wikipedia article. - Could you please tell me if that is possible? Thanks for your help! My name is Peter Ringeisen. I've been a teacher of English and German since 1986 (Twitter: @vilsrip). 27 May 2018 Vilsrip (talk) 21:37, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:Vilsrip no, this is not the right place to "respond", and what you wrote is not relevant to deletion discussions in Wikipedia.
Would you please explain what brought you to Wikipedia all the sudden? Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:43, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
User:Jytdog So - where is the right place?
What brought me to this particular place in Wikipedia is a message that Prof. Martin sent me. He is concerned that the Wikipedia article on his life's work might be deleted.

Wss that message sent in public somehow? I noticed that you included your twitter handle (which here in WP is odd...) Jytdog (talk) 22:03, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No. I included my twitter handle to provide some kind of reference to how I write online (i.e. not a troll) because I can't point to any WP material you might judge me by.

Thanks for answering. OK, please read WP:MEAT. He should not be recruiting people to come to WP to try to "overwhelm" the discussion, and because you have been recruited, you should think twice about responding.
The relevant policy here is WP:DELETION. Please review that, so you understand what is being discussed. To understand how we discuss it please see WP:DELPRO.
Please be aware that:
it happens sometimes, that people try to rally "friends" to come to Wikipedia to try to overwhelm the discussion. This is very obvious to experienced editors, and it tends to generate a backlash that makes deletion more certain and more definitive than it would have been otherwise.
if the discussion leads to the page being deleted, someone can attempt to create a new page. If somebody with a conflict of interest creates the new page, it should be created as a draft and put through the articles for creation process, which involves prior review by experienced editors before it publishes. That is how we manage conflict of interest in Wikipedia.
There you go. The actual discussion is at the attached page, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Learning by teaching - you would post there, to participate in the discussion. Jytdog (talk) 22:28, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
