• Eystein Young Dingha is the Cameroonian director of The Planter's Plantation, a 2022 musical drama and Cameroon's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 2023 Academy Awards.

• Don Omope, Nigerian film producer and director who directed Tatu and Makate Must Sell. He produced The Wedding Party and Taxi Driver: Oko Ashewo. He was nominated for Best Art Director at the 2017 Best of Nollywood Awards and Director of the Year at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards for his work on Tatu.

• Mai Martaba (Your Royal Highness) (2023) is a Kannywood film directed by Prince Daniel. A hausa-language historical epic that is an adaptation of the radio drama Kasar Jallaba. Its distinctions include being Nigiera's official selection to the 2025 Oscars.
• Omo Iya Kan, 2009 Nigerian Yoruba language drama which starred Dorris Simeon. It was nominated for Movie of the year at 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards and Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Film in an African Language.
• Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (film) is a 2023 Nigerian biopic about the mother of Nigerian musician and activist Fela Kuti. It was directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters and won Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay at the 2023 Africa International Film Festival.
