- Evidence
User appears to be evading a one-week block by editing anonymously via AOL and by editing under a new username, User:StrangeApples. User has been accused of sockpuppetry previously here: Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Mykungfu. Case was closed by admin without judgment either way.
Mykungfu has since been blocked for logging in anonymously via AOL to (among other things) spam the WP:AN3 page: [1] [2] [3]
The original complaint was here: [4] I reverted my own user page multiple times to remove vandalism by User:Mykungfu and his socks, and I was not warned or blocked.
Mykungfu has slipped up more than once in acknowledging that these anonymous edits were his, including here: [5]. He has continued to edit anonymously, doing things like editing the long-closed sockpuppetry allegation against me despite being told numerous times that the case is closed and that the page should not be edited. [6] [7] [8] [9] When I posted on the anon IP's talk page that that user was posting comments made my User:Mykungfu and that they were therefore one and the same, who should show up but User:StrangeApples: [10].
Mykungfu is still in the middle of a one-week block, but has returned as User:StrangeApples, whose contributions list bears a striking resemblance Mykungfu's. User:StrangeApples was created during Mykungfu's block; he immediately headed for the same pages Mykungfu had been editing; he is rather familiar with wikipolicies, specifically the ones used in the events leading up to Mykungfu's block [11]. His current strategy seems to be to do his controversial edits via the IPs and to do selective edits via User:StrangeApples, with the collective effort appearing to be that of multiple people. | Mr. Darcy talk 04:56, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I provided some copyedit to Howard University, because this user routinely looks at the contributions of other editors, within minutes he reverted my edits as seen [here]
The Alpha Kappa Alpha article has contained this text and citations for many months. Because he doesn’t like the author, he has removed the text and citation saying this info is not from the official organizations site, not because the facts are not true.
I updated the Phi Beta Sigma page with a minor change just to see if he would appear, he did and reverted. Ccson 12:55, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Additional evidence: User:StrangeApples has been here for less than a week and is already quoting Wikipedia policies, such as WP:NOR [12]; it's extremely unlikely that he's really a new user. Also, User:Mykungfu has tried to file a retaliatory sockpuppetry allegation here [13] just as he did when he was first accused of sockpuppetry. | Mr. Darcy talk 22:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Comments
i've seen it. it's a nice reading... i disagree and unlike this user mykungfu, i speak about things and am aware of what's going on because I READ talk pages! i also confer with Admin concerning things unlike the user mykungfu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Syrthiss#Kappa_Alpha_Psi . My contribution list is far broader than MyKungFu. anyway it's been an honor to be the subject of your interests. I feel like a star with Paparazzi! StrangeApples 05:01, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- You all have similar writing patterns. Nice try though. Are you still an Alpha or are you a Kappa, now? Bearly541 05:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Conclusions
I admit I'm not too familiar with how this works, but I blocked Mykungfu indefinitely for clearly using sockpuppets to evade his block. The AOL IPs don't have any similar editing patterns at a glance, but 64.131.205.160 and 68.175.26.54 look strikingly similar (and don't appear to contain edits from people besides him by the editing patterns), so I blocked those for a week.
