Request from Avathaar

[edit]

JWSchmidt says that I can ask for my editing restrictions to be lifted, so please lift my editing restrictions!—Avathaar (talk) 11:40, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On what basis? MastCell Talk 19:09, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
JWSchmidt said that I can ask for my editing restrictions to be lifted, so that's what made me ask. I've followed the editing restrictions imposed on me till now and I also promise to follow the rules once I'm allowed to edit articles here on wikipedia, so please lift my editing restrictions. Moreover, as an expert homeopath, I'm sure I can contribute positively to the wikipedia article on homeopathy (just like I did on citizendium). Thanks in advance for all the help.—Avathaar (talk) 10:58, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Lately JWS has been providing you with some good mentoring from which you need to learn. He has made suggestions, and you need to learn more. He's attempted to get you to research policies yourself, instead of spoonfeeding you. He wants you to learn before setting you loose on Wikipedia without the sufficient knowledge and understanding to edit and discuss properly. Just claiming that you desire to edit and that you believe you can contribute positively isn't good enough. We haven't seen evidence that you have changed yet. You are still making the same demands for changes which got you into trouble. Those requests have been thoroughly rejected many times by many editors and it's time to move on. Continually trying again is disruptive. You still claim that extremely poor research somehow proves that homeopathy is effective, which shows that you need to learn to understand the difference between good and poor research, and to understand the WP:MEDRS guidelines. Study them very thoroughly. JWS has been attempting to get you to be specific about the research. Choose a study from your long list and then examine it on your talk page. See if it would actually pass the muster according to MEDRS. We need to see actual changes in your understanding right on your talk page. Brangifer (talk) 04:48, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the mentoring has turned a corner and JWS' handling has improved a lot of late. Now the mentoring has started, let's see how it goes before considering an unban. I'd like to see the discussions about interpretation of policy finish first at the very least. The demands for an NPOV tag need to stop as well. We've finally reached a position where I approve of your editing restriction, so in my view it's far too soon to lift it. Verbal chat 09:48, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
