Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A:Administrators Tools. I am a core editor even before I registered with a user id. I have been editing Wiki from around 2005, when I first started using it. Thus, what I would really work on, is keep on editing and at the same time, stop any vandalism and any keep it clean. It would be working on anywhere, I can.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: I have generally done minor edits, as such, and those have been most of the times providing correct data, or amending the incorrect data, including grammar or spellings. I prefer to go through the data and see any flaws, and also verify links. Thus, you might see I have done some edits of the links, removing dead ones etc. It is always required to keep data up to date, and in days, when 73% of the world is linked online. Also, it is a time when Wiki has earned the name as the best resource web.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Yes! Although not over editing. I had recently uploaded a file, which I had overlooked to notice, was a clear copyright violation. I really was not able to go ahead and ask for deletion in time, as another person had already deleted(I am glad of that). I thanked the admin, and related to him, that it was a clear mistake, which I had done. I have been in this community as a registered user from 2008, and even before that as an unregistered one, and I am really at a loss of words for the mistake. However, I have always made sure that I do not commit any mistake. However, at the end of day, I am Human, and I also like many others have committed a mistake, which I know will not repeat in future.

Oppose
[edit]- Oppose and probably speedily close. User has barely over 100, and as evidenced by the lack of a nomination statement, may not be fully aware of the workings of the RFA process. However, he does mention alternate accounts. Disclosure, while it would not necessarily help in this RfA, may help users evaluate the candidate better for future RFA participation. Answers to the questions, while not terrible, do not show adequate understanding of why one applies for adminship. "Thus, what I would really work on, is keep on editing and at the same time, stop any vandalism and any keep it clean." One does not need admin tools to revert vandalism and keep articles clean. WP:NOTNOW applies here. Go Phightins! 15:51, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Not enough of a track record to allow evaluation. Definitely WP:NOTNOW. Lesser Cartographies (talk) 15:57, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Your editing record is grossly inadequate to allow evaluation of your skill. Three thousand or more edits are usually seen as minimal. I suggest you withdraw before you get piled-on.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 16:01, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose: awarding yourself a "tireless contributor" barnstar on your likely alternate account User talk:Vishal Bakhai, especially with such a low edit count, shows a lack of understanding. WP:NOTNOW. BethNaught (talk) 16:04, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- That is actually a semi-acknowledged alternate account; see the statement on this person's userpage, where he lists his full name as "Vishal 'Harry Browne' Bakhai". Someone (who knows more about this policy than I do) should advise this user how to publicly acknowledge and link these accounts, so that there is no suspicion of sockpuppetry. --MelanieN (talk) 16:25, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - sorry, not nearly experienced enough and language skills are too poor for an admin. GiantSnowman 16:06, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
