Hi, I would like to request sysops. I am an admin mainly active on Meta, among other non-content wikis as well as a crat on strategy wiki. I have several hundred logged actions on strategy and meta. I started on english wikipedia, where I have rollback and reviewer permissions. Lately, I found I don't have a lot to contribute to english wikipedia. I found simple english wiki last year and really like the community here, it's much smaller than en.wp. I am available on IRC and available for most of the day, I think if I had admin rights here I could be especially of use, since I am in a different time zone when not a lot of other admins are available. I want to contribute to a content project and would really like to work on simple english wiki besides my work on Meta. I am also an OTRS volunteer, member of SWMT and active in several other projects across Meta.

If there are any concerns if I would remain active here as an admin, I would point to my record on strategy wiki where I have remained active for several years even during times when there were less than 10 edits in a month.

  1. While I appreciate the work you provide across the board for Wikimedia, I feel that you have no contributed enough to Simple Wikipedia to justify giving you tools at this time. You have made around 375 edits in slightly over 2 months here. Other than a few RFDs and a few dozen QD's, I do not see a lot of involvement in process which I like to see more of from an admin candidate. Sorry, but I just cannot support at this time, Either way (talk) 10:13, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I am of a similar mind to Barras; the only reason this is in oppose rather than comment, or even support sections, is because the role of admin requires a current knowledge of the state of a wiki, and the most important local community policies and guidelines. The level of trust, admin competence or of this user is not in question at all. I just think that you need to put in some more time here for people to feel comfortable with giving the mop. Stick around a few months and you'll get it without a doubt. fr33kman 22:41, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  3. I need to be able to trust you with the tools on this wiki before I can support. More experience, and you will be a great candidate in the future.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 04:31, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I did put a weak support but I deleted it as I wasn't sure. To be honest I can't make up my mind one way or another. On the positive side you seem to actually edit constructively, only a few minor mistakes, and no-one has really had to warn you about anything. On a less positive note you don't really seem to contribute to discussions often, and the thing about that is that you are not really well known. I believe an admin should take part in discussions and should be well known in the 'community'. However, I don't want to oppose you for something you haven't done, so I think its best if I just abstain but wishing you luck in the process. Ydennek (talk) 11:48, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I really don't know how to vote here. I trust Theo to not abuse the rights and I know from his work on other wikis that he knows the stuff. But as it is known, my views on gaining admin ship are kind of hard usually. I want to see some work in any area, comments on WP:ST as well as on WP:AN and in deletion discussion. I also want to see some vandal work, which could warrant having the extra tools. Most importantly, I want to see article work, not only adding categories, but also to do other stuff, like writing article which shows how hard it is to write them and make you double thinking about a probably more controversial article to delete. It's all the mix I want to see from people here on simple before I usually support requests. Especially the content work is what I think is missing here. However, I really appreciate the work you do here. While I think you are a really good person and trustworthy, I only make this comment instead of opposing. I may support you in future, just not now.
