Thebestkiano (talk · contribs) - This month, I have mostly been editing wikipedia looking for vandalism or spam. I often revert the nonsense quickly and without fuss but when repeated vandals continue, I have no other option than to report them to Administrators. I always find with users wanting admin attention or advise, they're are never enough to go around. There definitely needs to be more administrators who operate often on Wikipedia. The administrators also need to be able to give advice and help other users who may not know as much as themselves. I am sure I can accomplish such tasks, even though I don't have a considerable amount of contributions already. Thebestkiano 10:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to take part in a number of admin operations. These will mainly include assisting and helping other users on Wikipedia. I will be able to assist a lot of the time and work on areas that have backlogs quickly and systematically. The main area I will work on is anti-vandalism. I will report/ban users who clearly violate the anti-vandalism information, and be fair in letting them have a 'second chance'. I have recently found that there are not enough administrators who operate for long periods, and as Wikipedia grows, there needs to be more admins to help other users and assist the articles on Wikipedia.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best contributions is mostly anti-vandalism work. I have recently become a recent changes patroller. My other contributions, even though not a lot, come from articles. I have conducted quite a few cleanups in organisation of articles and the technical side of Wikipedia articles. I enjoy correcting these problems and sorting out the organisation of Wikipedia into categories.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I have only had a few conflicts, which mainly come from my anti-vandalism work. They haven't caused me stress as I remind myself I am much better than the idiots who vandalise such great work as Wikipedia. Any other stress I may have had will end with a discussion with the user. I can't stand edit wars! I find that I enjoy discussions and find they are a good way to solve conflicts with users.

[edit]Support
[edit]Oppose
[edit]- I'm sorry, but I cannot support you at the moment. A lack of understanding in the difference between a block and a ban, as evidenced in the first answer, as well as your lack of experience here on en.wiki in general, makes me think that you are not experienced enough, nor ready to become an admin at this time. Please keep up your hard work, and come back here in a few months time. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:12, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak Oppose - per above. Some more experience would be nice. Rudget Contributions 11:41, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose You lack experience. You only have about 800 edits in total. Moreover, you have less than 100 edits on the Wikipedia namespace. I suggest you withdraw from this nomination and try again after a few months. --Siva1979Talk to me 13:15, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, way too little experience. Rlevse 13:36, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Sorry too little experience. However support your desire to do more in wikipedia. Please try again after a few months with more contributions.you will have my support. Good Luck. Pharaoh of the Wizards 13:48, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak Oppose– You seem a bit too inexperienced, but I believe you're on the right path. I suggest you try again in a couple months when you have more experience. Ksy92003(talk) 15:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose While I recognise that you are on the right track, your lack of experience in admin-related tasks and your lack of understanding of the difference between a block and a ban mean that, in my opinion, this application will not pass this time. I urge that you withraw this RfA, and consider re-submission in two or three months time after making another thousand or so edits. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 17:17, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
