Nomination
[edit]Stevedietrich (talk · contribs) – This is a self-nomination. I have not been a member of Wikipedia for very long, but I have used it as a reference source for several years now. I have been thankful for Wikipedia for it has helped me both for professional and personal research. I wish to help Wikipedia become a better place by creating, editing, and stopping vandalism of articles. I do not wish to vandalize, damage, or in any way tarnish the reputation of Wikipedia and promise to use my tools and privileges as an administrator within Wikipedia's standards. I promise to use these tools only to help make Wikipedia a better place if I become an administrator. Stevedietrich (talk) 22:18, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: One tool I intend on using to better Wikipedia is Page Deletion. If I find an article that does not follow Wikipedia's standards for whatever the topic, I will nominate the page for deletion for the bettering of Wikipedia. Another tool I intend to use is Reverting. I am strongly opposed to vandalism of this site and hope to stop vandalism as much as possible. I really love this online encyclopedia and I only wish to make it better. i want to use administrative tools to stop vandalism and clean up Wikipedia in order to make it as good as it can be.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best contributions to Wikipedia is the creation of the page Bill Hamilton (musician), my frequent edits to Silverstein (band), my talk on Anberlin's discussion page about controversy over the genre, and my discussion on Barack Obama's discussion page, because I feel that these were successful contributions that further expanded Wikipedia. My discussion contributions gave my opinions on certain matters with facts to back me up
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I have had a minor stressful conflict when i attempted to create an article early into my membership on an unsigned band. It was put up for speedy deletion. I read and understood why it was deleted and did not argue. I only tried my hardest to make my next article work with Wikipedia's standards.
- Additional optional questions from Phantomsteve
- 4. You said in your answer to Q1 that you would like to be involved in page deletions. How would you judge when an article met a CSD and when such a tagging should be declined?
- A:
- 5. Could you also please explain in your own words what CSD criteria A7 means?

Support
[edit]- Why not. He seems to be a nice guy. If fhe is willing to stand here and has no great offences then i will support him. delirious & lost ☯ ~hugs~ 01:14, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose
[edit]- Oppose per WP:NOTNOW. Nothing like enough edits to get an idea of what editor is like, and statement shows no need for the tools --Saalstin (talk) 23:47, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose very little amount of edits, and has not shown the commitment. No admin expiriance, only 13 main edits. --MWOAP (talk) 23:50, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Few edits. Not enough experience as a Wiki member. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hawkey131 (talk • contribs) 01:40, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose I'm not sure if you (Stevedietrich) are aware of this, but you do not need to be an admin to get the tools you want. You nominate unsuitable pages for deletion right now, and you can ask for rollback at WP:RFR. Work with both for a few more months, and come back to request adminship then. Liqudluck✽talk 01:53, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose You need More than 50 odd edits Francium12 02:09, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong Oppose but Strong Moral Support I hope that you don't give up but now is not your time to be an admin. You have only a handful of edits and you have only been here for a few months (2 to be exact). Perhaps you can get adopted and then admincoached and sometime next year you can re-apply. You seem to be quite the eager newcomer. I really like that as we really need good new editors. (the old ones are droping like rocks) but you still need to get a little more experiance. Perhaps you can get more experiance in vandal fighting and other admin related areas by applying for rollback after you get a few vandal fighting edits under your belt. Good luck and I hope to see you back here eventually :)--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 02:18, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Right now, you only have 55 edits. It is impossible to determine if you are ready to become an admin. If you work very hard for the next few months, you can reapply then. BtilmHappy Holidays! 03:03, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral
[edit]- Neutral While I applaud your enthusiasm, I feel that it is far to early for you to consider adminship. You have had an account for just over 2 months, you have a total of 55 edits (including 17 deleted edits), and you have absolutely no experience in admin areas (such as Page Protection Requests, Articles for Deletion or Administrators' Noticeboard). I would advise you to get a lot more experience across the board on Wikipedia - both in creating and adding to articles, and in admin areas. Good luck! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 23:46, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I have added a couple of questions about CSDs - I would be interested in seeing your answers to them. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 23:52, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Neutral per Phantomsteve. I wish you the best of luck on your on-wiki endeavors though. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 02:58, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
