Nomination
[edit]Ichwan Palongengi (talk · contribs) – Hello, I have been in Wikipedia since September 2009. I would like to be an administrator because I believe I can serve and contribute in Wikipedia better with this position . Ichwan Palongengi (talk) 01:59, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here: (self-nomination)
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I am wishing to take part in preventing vandalism, undo page that had been attacked, copyright problem and try to the best of my ability in other works as an administrator.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A:I mainly contribute in uploading picture (mainly peoples, logos, and maps) or changed the picture in an article with the better or newest version and also contribute to roll back article that had been attacked or fulfilled with nonsense. I personally like picture of person in the newest version, but absolutely I look the one that can be published in Wikipedia. I also don't like article fulfilled with nonsense because I told you now, many famous book publisher particularly in my country cited many of Wikipedia's pictures and articles. So, I don't want their cited the wrong things!
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A:I have no conflict over editing in Wikipedia before. But if I get in the conflict, I will deal with it in appropriate manner.

[edit]- Unfortunately, you're not ready. While I have no doubt that you have admirable intentions, you have only just over 500 edits, and you've only been here since December 2008 – that's just not enough for RfA. After working hard to improve yourself over the next few months, please feel free to re-submit yourself for adminship. Also, with regards to your answer to Q1; you don't have to be an administrator to fight vandalism. :) Consider this a moral support, but an oppose based on technical grounds. - Per Dylan. I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia, and that you'll keep up the good work. - Dank (push to talk) 03:35, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Your article work is good except for some difficulites with images, but with only 500 edits, none to talk or Wikipedia pages (other than RFA!), you will need a lot more experience to be ready to be an admin. Looie496 (talk) 03:37, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, but an intermediate level of English is not good enough for the English wikipedia. --Stephen 03:39, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]- Thank you for submitting your RFA. While I applaud enthusiasm, I'm afraid you do not yet possess sufficient knowledge/experience for the community to have confidence in your readiness to become an admin.
- Generally, It has been my experience that it takes at least 3,000 edits in a variety of areas to demonstrate a knowledge of policy and guidelines that is enough to attempt adminship. While it is possible to pass with below that, nominees have very rarely done so in recent times.
- The Admin tools allow the user to block and unblock other editors, delete and undelete pages and protect and unprotect pages. Nominees will therefore do well to gain experience and familiarity with such areas as WP:AIV, WP:AFD, WP:CSD, Wikipedia:Protection policy, and WP:BLOCK to learn when to do these things.
- Adminship inevitably leads one to 1) need to explain clearly the reasons for one's decisions, 2) need to review one's decisions and change one's mind when it is reasonable to do so, 3) need to review one's decisions and stand firm when it is reasonable to do so, 4) need to negotiate a compromise. Admins need a familiarity with dispute resolution. The ability to communicate clearly is essential.
- Article building is the raison d'être of Wikipedia. I recommend participation in WP:DYK, WP:GA, WP:FL, or WP:FA as the surest ways to gain article building experience.
- My suggestion would be to withdraw and try again in another few months and couple thousand edits. Many nominees have found it helpful to obtain an Editor Review or to receive Admin coaching before submitting their RfA and after passing that benchmark. Hope this helps. Good luck and happy editing.
