I accept the nominationI Withdraw My Nomination
I will love to be an admin for I love helping new users, reverting vandals and warning them with my current user powers. I shall use the admin powers well to keep Wikipedia clean. GreaterWikiholic 23:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. You may wish to answer the following optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to use all the tools given to me as an admin with a focus on removing vandalisim. As an user I love patrolling Recent Changes while looking for new users to welcome, vandalism to revert and vandals to warn. Whenever I see anything, I bolt toward it as hastily as possible. I do love helping people such as new users and participating in debates such as the AfD debates, and with my admin powers I will help even more people.GreaterWikiholic 00:27, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: What I believe are my best contributions are the edits that I enjoyed making. I am proud of all my contributions to the Wikipedia: Department of Fun, the Wikisongs, Wikipedia: Kindness Campaign contributions and especially my Recent Changes patrol. I contribute to the DoF for I believe it will make Wikipedia a more appealing place to be in, thus we have more editors that will stay here permenantly. The Wikisongs are intended to make Wikiholism something to be proud of so we'll have more editors who spend much of thier time contributing. I love working for the Kindness Campaign, I browse the recent changes section of Wikipedia, everytime I find a new user account, I send them a Welcome Message that can be seen below to show my kindness and promote Wikilove. I browse Wikipedia and click on completely random user talk pages and smile at them. Much of my evenings are spent on RC patrol. There I revert vandals, welcome new users and warn vandals. I created a text file on Microsoft Word where I copied and pasted warnings. I keep that text file open at all times during RC patrol and copy and paste appropiate warnings on the user talk pages of Vandals. I am a well liked Wikipedian because of my KC work and my DoF work and have made Wikipedia a warmer place to edit. GreaterWikiholic 00:27, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: When I first joined Wikipedia I was shocked and enraged by the actions of vandals. But over time, I got used to having people disagree with me and began reverting and warning vandals. If I were to get into a conflict in the future, I would give them KC Peace Doves with messages of forgiveness or requests for apologies. To those who are in conflicts, I give them smiles and purple stars. In the future, I shall be more active in mediatior and arbitrator to resolve disputes that other users and I are in.
- 4. Optional question from YechielMan: Could you list at least four permissions that administrators have but normal logged-in users don't have? I'm asking because I'm not sure you know. Hint: look at Wikipedia:Administrators.

[edit]Support
- I am a new user but i have edited under many ip addresses and i have looked at the contributions of GreaterWikiholic and i believe that the encouragement to new users is important because they will probably become good editors. I also believe that his opposition to vandalism is important to make wikipedia a better place for editorsMWACHTENDONK 00:58, 31 May 2007 (UTC)— MWACHTENDONK (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. Oppose
- Oppose - sorry, but with only 300 mainspace edits you need to have done something exceptional with them, and I don't see it. That "I want to be an admin" userbox puts me off as well, (adminship is a dull & tedious job, not a prize), and the advice on how to inflate your edit count on your user page makes me think you misunderstand the point of editing. (Edit counts are virtually meaningless; creating a 10,000 word article counts the same as an automated typo-correction.) — iridescenti (talk to me!) 01:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Further to my above, I've just noticed you've been nominated by an SPA — there may be a legitimate reason here and I'm perfectly willing to assume good faith, but without an explanation it looks decidedly odd — iridescenti (talk to me!) 01:09, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose From the answer to Q1, I see no reason for this user to be granted administrative tools. The user is eager to help others, but he/she makes no mention of closing AfDs, blocking vandals, protecting pages, helping backlogs, etc. The user has no experience with AIV, and since the user indicates an interest in RC patrol, it would only be appropriate for the user to have some prior AIV experience before being given the tools. The point made by Iridescenti is quite valid, as well. In any case, I think you're making progress as an editor, and I suggest you go for an editor review now and then consider adminship at a later date (once you have met the qualifications). - Oppose and strongly suggest withdraw per low experience, if not for the strange coincidence that both the nominator and only supporter have accounts created in the last few hours.--Húsönd 01:28, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - low experience, less then 2 full months of editing is nowhere near enough. Edit summary use is also low, and I see very little (If any) work in XfD's, and reports to AIV. All project space edits are in the fun department areas, which is OK for an editor, but not something for a sysop. G1ggy! Review me! 01:38, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose and suggest that this RFA be SNOW'd. Wikilove and Wikifun are nice, but you really need to have more experience before you can receive the mop. bibliomaniac15 02:04, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
