Erik the Red 2 (talk · contribs) - This is a self-nomination. I would really like to become an admin, mainly for the greater versatility it gives to edit and combat vandalism, but also for the ability to help new users get used to Wikipedia. Erik the Red 2 (talk) 02:26, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: Mostly combating vandalism, (protecting pages, blocking vandals, etc.) but also taking advantage of the greater editing versatility of an admin to help to clean up Wikipedia. I also will help new users get adjusted to Wikipedia
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: I have cleaned up a lot of the Ancient Greek/Roman/Norse stubs, either by expanding them or moving them to another page with more information. I helped to expand Beowulf to good article nominee in April of last year. I also have participated in several WikiProjects, and have worked with WikiProject Echo. In addition to Echo, I have helped to translate pages from/into Spanish, Latin, Greek, and Old English.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Pretty much all of my conflicts are with anonymous users, primarily vandals whose edits I revert. My user page has been vandalized once. I always try to assume good faith, and if granted adminship, I will always try to resolve any conflicts that may crop up peacefully, and give people the benefit of the doubt when warning them.

[edit]- Too new here. No. --Moosester ж 22:43, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Sorry. Insufficient experience. Lack of mainspace edits, and total edits. It would also help if you answered the questions. Your edit summary usage is also poor. Sorry, I would be really willing to support if you came back in a few months with all these things improved. Start working in WP:AFD, reporting to WP:AIV etc. Sorry. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose sorry, but you have fewer than 300 edits, so there simply isn't enough evidence to conclude that you have the policy experience necessary to be an administrator. Add to this the fact that you haven't properly completed this RfA (no description of yourself, no answer to the questions) and there is no basis to support this request. I suggest you withdraw your RfA, gain some more experience contributing to articles and demonstrating a clear understanding of policy and then seek an editor review to gain further feedback. Don't be disheartened. Best, Gwernol 22:54, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - Sorry, but this RfA is premature - but kudos for wanting to take the plunge and go for it. I advise that you ramp up your mainspace and wikispace editing, get yourself an WP:ADMINCOACH and go for WP:ER. Come back in about 5-6 months and let's re-evaluate your progress. Take it easy.
