DeSalvionjr - I want to help The Wikipedia grow and prosper like everyone else, but I try to take it to the next level by both doing it and monitoring the site for vandalism using javascripts on the site and try to edit whatever I can. I would use my power so I could turn what I do for the Wikipedia Community up a notch. Desalvionjr 18:48, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. You may wish to answer the following optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A:Cleaning Up Vandalism, Preventing/Resolving Edit Wars, Ensuring accuracy, and other peacekeeping tasks!
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A:I don't know? I don't think a person should really think some contributions of theirs are better than their others, at least it is helping wikipedia if they are informative. based on everything I just said I would say my answer in a nutshell would be "all of them"
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A:NO and No! I would deal with it in many ways, It depends on the many aspects of the issue itself to resolve issues.

Discussion
[edit]- This user seems to have a very small handle on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Despite his well-appreciated and admirable enthusiasm and willingness to help, adminship is in fact a pretty big deal whether Jimbo wishes to agree or not. His answer to Q1 is something he can do despite not being an admin. His edit count shows very little overall edits; though roughly half are in Wikipedia space, they don't seem to be benificial IMHO. In short, his lack of experience and time on here is enough for me to turn down his request. However, Desalvion, this does not mean there won't be other chances for you in the future. Study some of the rules, get a bit more active, and in a few months come back for another go at adminship. 19:45, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I recommend that that you look over Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia and see if there's anything that interests you. Once you've been an active contributor for a while (a few months at least) and are familiar with our policies and guidelines, come back and try again later. WODUP 19:51, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Based on your answer to question 1, you might want to start out by helping at Wikipedia:Cleaning up vandalism, Wikipedia:Resolving disputes, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Fact and Reference Check. WODUP 20:02, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Desalvionjr, I think it would be best to withdraw from the RfA. To be honest, I don't think it's going to get any better. // DecaimientoPoético 20:49, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Remove per WP:SNOW, less than 100 edits. Sorry, try when you have more experience.Rlevse 19:11, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- As I described to you on the Help desk page, I don't think your current experience at Wikipedia is broad enough for me to trust that you fully understand Wikipedia policy. You seem enthusiastic, so I recommend that you review pages like Wikipedia:Administrators to get a better idea of what admins can do here. Your questions are on the brief side and don't demonstrate that you are entirely familiar with admin activities. Again, this is not to disparage your work, but to encourage you to gain admin experience if its what you seek. Leebo T/C 19:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Little to no usage of edit summaries, only 60~ edits according to his edit count (nearly half of which in Wikipedia space, though none of which appear useful), and doesn't seem to have a very good handle on Wikipedia policies and guidelines. I'm sorry, but it's just too early for you to request such a thing. // DecaimientoPoético 19:20, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Your enthusiasm and desire to help is appreciated, but it does not appear you have the experience or familiarity with policy at this point to assume administrative duties. There are many ways in which non-admin users can help defend the 'pedia against vandalism and I highly encourage you to make the best of the tools that are available to you - if in the future you find yourself in need of more tools, perhaps give this a try again :) ɑʀкʏɑɴ 19:30, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, per Arkyan. Sorry, try again after a few more months and more edits. Bearian 19:57, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose due to answers of the questions. Miranda 20:46, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Less than 150 edits, per answers here the candidate is obviously unprepared to use the sysop tools wisely. VanTucky (talk) 21:06, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
