Hi! I'm Vermont, an administrator and checkuser here, and am happy to nominate DannyS712 for adminship. They have about 8.5 thousand edits here in their nearly two years of contributing, and a lot of experience with handling vandals, spam, and more technical aspects. I've been on wikibreak for a few days and a lot of the IRC pings I receive are from them (or other editors) asking for administrators to respond to something. With administrative tools, DannyS712 would be able to respond to vandalism/spam themselves, and they have more than enough experience both here and on other projects (metawiki, mediawiki, wikidata, and enwikiversity admin) to be trusted with more buttons. In a nutshell, DannyS712 has been editing here for some time and very often finds instances where administrative action is required; considering their trustworthiness and experience, I see no issues in granting the mop, which they can use to benefit our project and contribute more efficiently. Best regards, Vermont (talk) 18:36, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Support I see no reason why not -Examknowtalk 22:46, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support Doing good work in admin related areas, so I'm in support. I think Only's concerns are valid too, but they can improve their mainspace contributions anytime and these shouldn't affect them being admin or not—as adminship is more about adminstration not content creation. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 13:58, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[change source]- Question: Seen others ask this, I wanted to ask to see DannyS712's view: DannyS712 What admin work do you intend to not do, or do you intend to do all areas? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 19:17, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- Mostly in counter vandalism and speedy deletion, but to some extent in all areas where I feel comfortable (history merges if needed, abuse filters to stop some ltas, etc.) --DannyS712 (talk) 19:25, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- What sort of history merges and abuse filters do you have in mind? 38.126.254.114 (talk) 02:42, 14 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- History merges would be if someone who cannot move an article tries to "move" it with a copy-paste. Abuse filters, I cannot go into too much detail (see w:WP:BEANS) but they would be designed to prevent bad edits from long term abusers ("LTA"s) --DannyS712 (talk) 02:44, 14 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

- Question: Is there a particular article that you've contributed to that you're most proud of? Only (talk) 21:22, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- Not really. I worked on created a simplified version of Suzan DelBene based on the enwiki article, but I think that is the only article I've written here --DannyS712 (talk) 22:15, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- Question: How do you have time for everything you do? Majavah (talk) 06:06, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- Not sure what you mean - I have the same 24 hours everyone else has --DannyS712 (talk) 07:17, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Note: I'm going to add some stats to the talk page. Only (talk) 13:45, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- I won't vote, because I have not been active for long enough to justify doing so, but I wanted to add to the discussion. I see no problem with DannyS712 being a sysop. I get the objection to the lack of substantial edits to the article namespace, but I don't think that would stop them being a good admin. I see good evidence of QD reporting, warning users, and if it can ease the workload of other admins then all the better. --Yottie =talk= 18:36, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
