Chuckfromchan (talk · contribs) - Hi, I'm chuckfromchan and I'd like to request for adminship. I like going around Wikipedia and correcting and adding in things to articles, but it really pains me when I see Vandals that are vandalizing many different articles without anyone banning them. That is one of the reasons why I want to be a sysop. Also, I want to help out Wikipedia in any way that I can with updates to project pages, images, etc. If you have any questions for me, you can contact me on my talk page or on irc network freenode as user chuck or chuckfromchan. Thanks, chuckfromchantalk 17:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing, my other user account that I used to use is User:Canuckid. -chuckfromchantalk 18:04, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. You may wish to answer the following optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I would most like to take part in making sure Vandals as they are blatantly vandalizing the wiki, and also I would like to help out in any other way that I can like updating the Main Page if needed, etc.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: I think my best work is just reverting Vandalism (which I really hate because it is very rude to the editors who work very hard on articles), and also my help with the Welcoming Committee every once and awhile.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I have not had any editing conflicts with other users in the past, but if I do have one, I would most likely see if there was a way to merge/combine each other's ideas. If we weren't able to merge both ideas, I would let the other person keep their edits (if they were plausible, of course), to prevent any further conflict.

- Sorry, only 3 mainspace edits, 58 in total. Also, he just joined the project in Feburary! ffm ✎talk 18:12, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep in mind that as a new Wikipedian, Chuckfromchan is likely unfamiliar with standards for RfA. Your comment reads to me like his interest in adminship is inappropriate. It's not, it's just early. Leebo T/C 18:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Also, User:Canuckid's edits are mine also. Canuckid was an older user of mine. -chuckfromchantalk 18:21, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose - I certainly appreciate the effort to help Wikipedia by nominating yourself to be an admin. It shows you're interested in long-term commitment to the site. Unfortunately, adminship is a position of trust, and I don't feel that your current contributions offer enough of an opportunity for me to judge your trustworthiness. If you would like to try to do some admin-like activities to display your awareness of Wikipedia policy, try participating in deletion discussions and reporting repeat vandals to administrators. In the future, try to avoid comments like this, as they can be seen as uncivil. I hope to see your progress as a Wikipedian in the future. Leebo T/C 18:16, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose- you can fight vandalism without being an admin Thunderwing 18:36, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - editor has made a great start to Wikipedia, however simply not enough contributions - just over 100 total contribs between two accounts does not give enough confidence that editor will not misuse tools. Keep doing what you are doing, Chuckfromchan, and in a few months you shouldn't have any trouble getting the mop. PGWG 18:46, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose While edit count is not the only criterion, participation in all of the various parts of wikipedia shows us the degree with which you understand wiki policy. Your two accounts together do not at present contain enough contribution to demonstrate this. But keep it up, and you will get there. I suggest withdrawing this application now, and re-submitting after three months or so.--Anthony.bradbury 18:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose based on contributions. Found these in his contribution history (and they represent a large proportion of his contributions): "it's not vandalism you jerk", and replacing a page with "I hate margaret porter". These are newbie mistakes, to be sure; many people start out this way before turning into valuable contributors. Chuckfromchan can do the same, but I don't want to perpetuate the falsehood that he should just keep doing what he's doing now, make a ton more edits, and reapply. Rather, he should gain the experience with WP necessary to not do what he's doing now. rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 19:00, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
