Hello everyone! From time to time it still happens that I think someone already is an admin and then check and notice they're not. One of these people is Caliburn. He's been a very active and overall helpful editor here on simple for quite some time now. He's especially active in fighting vandalism here and reverts a lot of stuff and also tags quite a lot of articles for deletion. As an admin, he could handle those deletions himself, which surely would be helpful for all of us. As an admin on wikidata, he already has experience using the tool, which is always a great advantage. He's done really a lot here and I think he's ready to become an admin to help us a bit more. We surely would all benefit from him having those few extra buttons. I hope you agree with me and comment positive on this. I wish you good luck now! -Barras talk 16:03, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Support Caliburn has really helped out a lot with pretty much all areas, including detailed new pages. I don't see a problem with the user using the tool wrongly. DivineAlpha (talk) 16:16, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Support I'd be happy to have him as an admin. He already does a great deal of valuable work. Macdonald-ross (talk) 16:58, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Support: most of your user talk page activity has been automatic warnings. I was looking to see your interactions with other users. An important aspect to me in an admin is patience and kindness unless an editor is worth banning. So because of your thanks log to other contributors and for the articles you have created well: I will trust you with adminship. Thanks for running. Support You've not only welcomed me to the Simple English Wikipedia, but from what I see from your global Wikimedia contributions (and your friendly presence on the English Wikipedia and the #wikipedia-en IRC channel) you are more mature than most adults I see! A lot of people say that the youth of today are not capable, both physically and mentally, to handle the stress of real life, like Wikipedia. As a teenager myself, I get that aimed at me a lot. You are living proof that they're wrong. I look forward to seeing you with the mop! --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 02:26, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[change source]- George, here are some questions for you:
- Please tell us why you want to be an admin, and how you view the job.
- Describe any admin actions you have seen that you would have handled differently. What would you have done instead?
- Looking at the list of admin abilities at Wikipedia:Administrators, which of those would you feel comfortable doing? Which would you not feel comfortable doing?
- Thanks!--Auntof6 (talk) 16:39, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- Right. I mainly want to be an admin to further fight vandalism, but I will also carry out routine maintenance tasks, such as updating protected pages and MediaWiki interface pages. I think admins here do a good job, and there aren't any off the top of my mind that I'd particularly disagree with. There have been a few instances where an admin issued a block that I felt was too leniant, but didn't get around to contacting the blocking admin. I feel comfortable with most tasks, such as deletion, page protection, blocking users and granting user rights (such as rollbacker and patroller). I will frequently watch WP:VIP and WP:RFD. (as it frequently gets backlogged, sometimes by days) The only things that I would not be comfortable with modifying Java-Scripts and gadgets, due to my simple lack of knowledge of JavaScript. (but this may change in the future) I hope this is enough for you to make a judgement. :) --George (Talk · Contribs · CentralAuth · Log) 16:51, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- Just wanted to comment that its always better to err on the side of leniency on block length since you can just escalate the blocks up the steps if they re-offend. :) When I saw this request I was so confused for a second because I was like who is Caliburn since you use a different signature. -DJSasso (talk) 23:54, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
