I have been using Simple Wikipedia off and on for the past 10 months. I have created a number of articles and I have interacted in a polite and respectful way with fellow editors. I would like to work on making Wikipedia a more user friendly place where new users are encouraged to contribute to this body of knowledge.
I think that many users can get discouraged from editing wikipedia by some well meaning, yet perhaps over-zealous editors, who may mean well, but consquently discourage people who can bring in different styles to Wikipedia. I think the majority of editors have lives outside of wikipedia, and should not be excluded from higher participation because they don't spend many hours editing.
It is my observation from looking at votes, and many discussions that wikipedia can have a solid core of users who may be able to use wikipedia for 20 plus hours a week and can view users with less usage with suspicion, and as "outsiders"
I am surprised at the hostility/rudeness which can cause potential good editors to give up and leave. I would like to implement rules to avoid this kind of forum, and not discriminate against users who may have alot going on in their personal life and can not contribute to a high degree. "Quality over Quanity" Thank you for your time and consideration.
I would like to nominate myself

[change source]- Regretful not now Oppose - Sorry, you're just not active enough in the community for me to support, and I don't see any strong need for you to have the tools. You do some good work, but I don't think you're quite ready for the tools yet. Sorry. Goblin 18:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Juliancolton!
- Oppose - I think that you still not have the necessary experience. You added about one month ago a section at the top of an discussion (follow the next diffs. For every new post about the same a new section). You have never requested any QD and only a few deleted edits. The edits were from articles you created. The last one of these on August 4. You have only 155 live edits. This is still not enough for me. Barras (talk) 18:43, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Not now. Lack of activity and experience. -- Mercy (☎|✍) 19:59, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose per above, and your mention in your statement about implementing rules. Admins are not different from normal users, they just have different tools. An admin's opinion is has the same weight as the opinion of a normal user. Griffinofwales (talk) 20:14, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

[change source]I haven't seen you edit very much; why don't you edit some more, and retry in a few months? --Eptalon (talk) 20:44, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
I would echo Eptalon's comment - spend a bit more time around here, make some more edits so the community can see what kind of contribution you can make? The Rambling Man (talk) 23:22, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
