He did it again? Didn't he?
OMG! Hitler invaded Austria! It's all over Europe! OMG! Hitler is invading Poland!! We must make an article about it!
Now hold your horses, mate. This does not necessarily need to be mentioned on Wikipedia, much less require its own article.
Why not?
[edit]Yesterday, Nazi Germany invaded Poland, which has led to outrage. But, remember, Wikipedia considers the lasting effect of events, let's read WP:NOTNEWS, shall we?
Wikipedia considers the enduring notability of persons and events.
While news coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, most newsworthy events do not qualify for inclusion and Wikipedia is not written in news style. For example, routine news coverage of announcements, events, sports, or celebrities, while sometimes useful, is not by itself a sufficient basis for inclusion of the subject of that coverage.
The Invasion of Poland and the annexation of Austria are new events, they are very unlikely to have any lasting effect or significance. They are brief news stories that will be forgotten in a day. [1]
