The result of the discussion was userfy the original humourous message and delete the resulting redirect. —C.Fred (talk) 17:13, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Unnecessary warning page. MikeWazowski (talk) 21:42, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Keep Read the box. It. Is. Funny. And essays are not deleted just because one user thinks they are unnecessary. This is just as necessary as WP:Don't delete the main page, given that the main page is not deletable anymore. --Bowser the Storm Tracker Chat Me Up 21:50, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- We'll leave that up to others to decide - it's already been speedy deleted once. MikeWazowski (talk) 21:55, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- That was a misunderstanding about the intent of the article, not a valid speedying. And the other thing is, this provides legitimate ADVICE to people dealing with trolls on wikipedia or elsewhere. --Bowser the Storm Tracker Chat Me Up 21:57, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Weak Keep - there's not really anything listed in WP:NOESSAY that would seem to apply here, although there's no specific guideline or policy for essays that I could find. I don't really see much value in the essay, but at the same time, it's not really hurting anything. Inks.LWC (talk) 00:03, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Delete After seeing Johnuniq's link to the Alert Message encoding, I've changed my mind, as this seems like it could do more harm than good humor. Inks.LWC (talk) 01:50, 24 July 2011 (UTC)- Delete This is not suitable for the WP namespace as it has no demonstrated useful application at Wikipedia; it should be moved to user space with no redirect. The proper page dealing with this issue is WP:DENY which has the alternative shortcut WP:DNFTT when a "do not feed the trolls" message is wanted. Duplicating the WP:DENY advice is not helpful, and any defects in that page should be fixed (removing the "A vandal at work" image is still on my todo list; see its talk page.). The new page Wikipedia:Wikipedia Alert Message Encoding appears unhelpful as its humor is less apparent and it could be mistaken as an attempt to provide information. Johnuniq (talk) 00:46, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Delete as per Johnuniq, demonstrates no useful application at Wikipedia. LiteralKa (talk) 02:05, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Delete - No point in keeping this; the page is redundant. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 04:25, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Speedy Delete as a copy right violation of the YouTube video linked. jorgenev 04:41, 24 July 2011 (UTC)- Comment - how is that a copyright violation? LiteralKa (talk) 04:50, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- no copyvio. ref. --Bowser the Storm Tracker Chat Me Up 04:59, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Comment - how is that a copyright violation? LiteralKa (talk) 04:50, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- The whole point of the page is to present the transcript of a copyrighted video in its entirety with no original content or commentary. It is a copyright violation. jorgenev 06:00, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that letters, a computer generated sound, and simple geometric shapes can actually be copyrighted. See: Threshold of originality LiteralKa (talk) 06:02, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- What do you mean you're not sure letters can be copyrighted? jorgenev 06:06, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm saying that it doesn't meet the Threshold of originality. LiteralKa (talk) 06:08, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I see a paragraph of copied content. A paragraph does not meet the threshold of originality? jorgenev 06:09, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Guess what? THAT. IS. MY. OWN. FLIPPIN'. VIDEO. THEREFORE NO COPYVIO. --Bowser the Storm Tracker Chat Me Up 00:55, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- If you own the video that posting it here is indeed your right. However aside from that I still !vote delete. I would recommend you move the content to your userpage. jorgenev 01:31, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Then that should have been your first response to the claims of copyright violation. Not that it was simply referenced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Inks.LWC (talk • contribs)

- Delete. "humor" needs to have some relationship with Wikipedia, the project. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 07:01, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- keep this is a parody of the US weather alert system. In form and formatting. That's why it's funny, it's a parody, and I think it should be kept. HominidMachinae (talk) 07:52, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
