The result of the discussion was: procedural close. Looks like the nominator nominated the wrong page. The correct nomination is now located at Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2023_June_20#Wikipedia:SME –Novem Linguae (talk) 19:12, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
All incoming links to this shortcut seem to think it refers to WP:Subject-matter expert, i.e. WP:Expert editors, (which is what I too was seeking) and not its current target. This confusion has even been discussed here and here. This should be retargeted to Wikipedia:Expert editors, and the expansion of this use of the initialism also created as a redirect there. - I dunno...Make a more memorable WP:ABCDEF to point to the thing you want. Tell people to check their WP:ABCDEF before they post it. None of this even has any bearing on whether the essay should be deleted. It's all about the redirect. GMGtalk 18:16, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
