The result of the debate was mark as historical. It's a bit of a stretch to say that there is consensus to keep this page, but there isn't a consensus to delete it here, given its possible archival value. Everyone agrees, however, that the page is obsolete. Xoloz (talk) 16:39, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page seems to be redundant to other pages such as Adopt a User, Help Desk etc. It consists of new users leaving a message, but for what purpose? I count two responses to dozens of messages, and frankly it seems the page is inactive to the regulars here. I suppose new users go there because it is linked in a welcome message. I think it should be deleted, or at least marked as historical. Thanks. Redrocketboy 00:44, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I only support tagging pages as "historical" when they clearly have some historical value (e.g. a proposed policy that failed to gain consensus); I can see little use in preserving history for the sake of it being history. – Black Falcon (Talk) 22:03, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
