Why are we focusing this on him? I don't want up to start a standard of singling out editors here. Especially the POV about his opposes. NonvocalScream (talk) 02:13, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Userfy as personal opinion that is highly relevant to Wikipedia; its not really a personal attack although that one line might merit removal. I know of other users that have sub-pages devoted to Kurt as well. - Icewedge (talk) 02:38, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm ambivalent. You can
U1G7 (whoops) it or move it into userspace. Also, this is kind of the reverse of insulting kurt. Kurt makes opposes. People think it is funny to make nom statments about how their self nom will garner an oppose from Kurt. While it seems like a good idea (and may help them laugh off the stress), other people don't really have a sense of humor about it. It is about that pitfall. If it sounds like it is about kurt, it's in project space, so edit away. Protonk (talk) 02:47, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- FYI:Info that insults a real person is grounds for automatic deletion. It's a big policy detailed on the Biography pages. Lots42 (talk) 02:23, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- BLP generally only applies to articles. - Icewedge (talk) 02:38, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not true. BLP applies to anywhere on the project. although I'm not sure this is a BLP violation by any stretch of the imagination. Protonk (talk) 02:51, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- A note. I've listed this discussion on the MfD log now. Protonk (talk) 03:06, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Userfy. While I understand the message, its not yet appropriate for the project namespace. Synergy 04:16, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Userfy Per Wikipedia:Wikipedia essays, those essays that are poor candidates for broadening should be relocated to a subpage of the user that authored them. -- Suntag (talk) 05:28, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete Obvious reference to a current RfA. Not really appropriate. I guess userfying would be acceptable, but my first choice would be to get rid of this. GlassCobra 05:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Userified I remain agnostic about deletion, so that part of the discussion should continue, I guess.Protonk (talk) 05:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)- Nevermind. I just slapped a U1 on it (now that it is back in userspace). I contest the suggestion that this was about a current RfA, but watching that one go down in flames over a disconnect about the sense of humor in the room lead me to make this essay. There have been, IIRC, three RfA's in recent memory that have tubed largely because of some indiscreet comment about self-noms. I'm not sure how to view this MfD, but I'm leaning toward it being an affirmation that it isn't that funny. Protonk (talk) 05:41, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
