The result of the discussion was Redirected to Portal:Information technology. The history's there, so if there's any content anyone feels is worth merging, please go ahead and do so. WilyD 09:13, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
Very narrow scope, not built out, covered by Computer science Information technology portals already. Sven Manguard Wha? 06:18, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- Didn't know when I put it up for deletion, but apparently this has already been placed up for deletion for largely the same reason in 2007 and was only kept with the understanding that the portal would be built out. Looks like that hasn't happened. Sven Manguard Wha? 06:20, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect to Portal:Computer science. This should have just been done boldly as there have been no productive edits to the portal for years. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 06:43, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- Why "computer science" instead of Portal:Information technology or Portal:Telecommunication? -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 06:01, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Either of those would be fine, too. I just picked the first one that I knew existed which was related. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 08:53, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

- Merge and redirect, that way some of the prior work will be retained, should someone want to reference it later for another usage and retain the prior contributions. — Cirt (talk) 16:42, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect to Portal:Computer science per Nihonjoe (talk · contribs) and Cirt (talk · contribs), since this portal has no work for years, possibly for usage for future use. JJ98 (Talk) 20:46, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- Do NOT merge to Portal:Computer science. It is a specialized form of telecommunication, so should Merge and redirect to Portal:Telecommunication. The top of the portal page even states it is part of telecomm. -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 06:00, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Do not merge or redirect to Portal:Computer science per 65.92.180.137. —Ruud 10:38, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- The issue with all five of your suggestions is that there is nothing to merge. The one image isn't an FP, the two DYKs aren't actual DYKs, and the article isn't an FA or GA. There's nothing of any quality that can be salvaged. That's why I put it up for deletion. Redirecting is fine, though. Sven Manguard Wha? 15:34, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Delete/Redirect to Portal:Telecommunication. – Philosopher Let us reason together. 17:01, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Delete, too little content to warrant a merge/redirect. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 08:53, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
- For the redirect, I was thinking of the places that already link to it - or did you think there were too few of those to bother? – Philosopher Let us reason together. 13:36, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
- The links can easily be changed. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 14:01, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

- Merge into Portal:Information technology. The most appropriate target is Portal:Computing but this is now a redirect to Portal:Information technology. I admit there is not much to salvage here but I am calling this a merge because networking does deserve a mention in the lead section of the portal. -—Kvng 15:35, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
