[edit]- Due to some problems with publicity and a couple of late cancellations we only had 5 attendees this time. However we had a good amount of discussion.
Discussion
[edit]- The geonotice did not work, it appears the maintainer of this service is no longer active.
- Talk about restarting the Wikipedia:New Zealand Collaboration of the Fortnight, perhaps on a monthly basis
- Some need to tidy the Wikipedia:WikiProject New Zealand page.
- Answer questions people have
- Provide HOWTO ( Step by Step ) and suggest 10 minute or 2 hour projects
- Create requested articles
- Assessments
- Find photos in Flickr
- Approach people to write articles or provide background information to base articles on
- most of the above are not hard just, need somebody with time and inclination.
- Requested photos
- Create subcats for NZ photos
- Need more assessment of articles
- Lots of missing photos, Some success reported searching flickr and sending authors their requests.
- Some general articles that cross areas missing ( "sustainability in New Zealand" )
- Next meeting could perhaps be a copy of "wikis take Manhattan" with groups across Auckland ( and perhaps other centers) taking photos ( and other media) and uploading it to Wikipedia, followed by meeting. Suggested date is February 2009 to take advantage of summer weather.
