I uploaded an artwork for a digital release of The Great British Bake Off series 4. Nonetheless, I have kept thinking that a cast photo would be better representation of the topic. This all comes down to which image is more preferable: this artwork (or cover art?) Either one would need an FUR, which would need to show that they can't be replaced with a PD image without significant loss of encyclopaedic value. However, if it's a choice between two non-free images, pick the better one and then tag the other as WP:F5, since non-free images not used in articles are deleted automatically. In your view, if you did remove the image and replace it with PD text (or something else that isn't in copyright), would anything irretrievable and important be lost? If the answer is "no", there's no fair-use rationale, since FUR requires that the subject can't be adequately conveyed by properly sourced text or using free content media. Please assume good faith. I've seen JohnCWiesenthal around FFD for a while, and he has an unusually anti-non-free-use standard but nevertheless one that is within the Overton window. The motivation to prefer free images is that Wikipedia is supposed to be the Free Encylopedia, as its tagline says, so non-free use should be kept to a minimum. The other copy (file:BB12LowRes.png) was PRODded and then deleted without contest. The newest screenshot of the show intro shows one of generic title cards of Big Brother US. It still doesn't help readers fully identify or contextually understand Big Brother 12 (American season); compare this to Big Brother 10 (American season) and prior seasons.
